On a slightly different note, where does the term “Rag”
Come from ?
Is it red rag to a bull or something else ?

There must be some infiltrators on there because some of them seem to speak English and sense....!

!Have you not been watching Man City? This isn't a team just packed with star players in their prime. Jesus, Sane and Sterling are young players but playing astonishing football. The likes of Sterling, Stones, Otamendi, Fernandhino at one point were considered clowns but in no time at all he has them not just playing well, but on a different level to what one ever thought they could reach. Sterling is on for 30+ goals for Christ sake!

Man City have spunked a lot of money but so have we. The fact is they've bought better and they are being managed better.
I've stopped trying to convince people that Pep inherited a great City team. The points you make are similar to what I've posted before, people are looking at City now and think this is what Pep inherited. Rather we need to look back to the summer of 2016, and that City team was pretty average. We laughed at the likes of Otamendi, Mangala and Sterling, Fernandinho was average, and supposedly Silva and Aguero were both over the hill, and this was at a time when we all rated the likes of Shaw and Herrera, and Martial and Rashford were considered superior to Sterling/Sane. We laughed at £50m for Stones. Yet all these City players are now performing because Pep has them working in a system, and proper tactics."

Two schools of thought

Once they were so poor their kits was just rags and Manchester City gave them kit. - This is true.

Or - their kit is made from the rags used by women after being visited by the monthlies. - This probably isn't true but everyone likes a period drama!

Many years ago in the 1930s United were on the brink of bankruptcy and as they were so skint they had to play in old tatty kit. It wasn't us who termed it, it was there own as they were playing in 'Rags'. It was rumoured that we actually bought them a new strip as a sign of our togetherness.

And why do we use this term now? Most probably because we used to call them 'Munichs' as disparagement but in this PC world it was driven out and we needed a new tag. Rags it was.

They were so impoverished that they couldn't afford proper kit. Rags was a term that their supporters coined.

There was a 'history' post somewhere on here within the last 24 hours which explained it more fully and correctly than I could do.

Ah sorry mate. I’m useless on computers. I consider myself intelligent cause I can log on here without assistance from my eight year old. Don’t want to wake him up to show me how to get a link thing from the cafe, will give him nightmares.

It's alright pal, it's not me being lazy, it would just feel wring to type it in and trawl through their site.

Cheers pal, seems they're not too enamoured with Maureen ;-)

Looks like they gave the Donut Thief MotM yet when looking at the stats both teams only had 3 shots on target. They must have been impressive saves. Either that or every other player was shit!

Fantastic read. Those who refuse to go on their are depriving themselves of so much fun.

Mind you I did watch it and they were terrible. Cant wait to see the latest rant and how City are to blame for drawing with 3 mediocre teams.

I am encouraged by the number on there who think Ozil is the answer. Go for it, Ed.
