Fixture pile up - which game to choose?

Postby mr_nool » Tue Jan 02, 2018 10:11 am

I'm hoping to make it to one more home game this season, and have bee looking through the fixture list and comparing it to the set dates for the FA Cup, League Cup and Champions League. In all honesty, we more or less have to get kicked out of one of the cups soon, or I wonder how the bloody hell we will be able to fit all games in :D

That said, which of our home fixtures are LESS likely to be moved? Any input from someone smarter/more experienced in theses issues than I am would be welcome! Am I correct to assume that the Cup dates are set in stone and won't be changed - i.e. that the league games will have to be rescheduled if we do reach those rounds?

Just to clarify: I don't mind if games are moved from Saturday to Sunday (will most likely go from Friday to Monday morning or Sunday night).

As far as I can make out the derby looks like the best bet, but I was planning to bring my old man this time, and it might be tough to get two tickets next to each other for that particular game.

(Italics = cup rounds we haven't reached yet; highlights = fixture clashes)

Home games, the league:
January 20, 31
February 10
March 3, 17
April 7, 21
May 5

FA Cup:
Jan 27
Feb 17
March 17
April 21
May 19

League Cup:
January 9, 23
February 25

Champions League:
February 13
March 7
April 3-4, 10-11, 24-25
May 1-2, 26

I reckon/hope that most home league games after Feb won't get moved because we would have won the league by then so Sky/BT will be concentrating on games between relegation or CL places

Eyeing up a trip myself.
Told the young lad I'd bring him over if he passes all his Christmas exams.
Not sure even bribery will have worked though.

Nool - sorry to hijack your thread. Hope you get what your looking for.

I'm heading up with my boy on Sat. If anyone can let me know if it's possible to see the players off the coach, what area and when that would be helpful?

Thanks

Get to city Square 2 hours before the game. They have entertainment on and they then head over to the entrance and have an event to watch the players arrive off the coach. It's pretty good for the young ones. Also, kids in full kit the opportunity to win a chance to walk out on the pitch with the team too.

City v Leicester on Feb 10 would be the best bet I’d say if you can organise the trip in one month.
Games around it (Basel away) have already been decided And the game is moved to Saturday 5:30pm for telly (also bonus points as you have time to enjoy a couple more stellas before the game)

Also the game v rags is very likely to be Saturday early kick off imo as it is likely that CL will be played both right before and after that one. Tickets could be another issue tho.

Personally I’m hoping the last home game will stay put on Sat/Sun and that I could both find the money and tickets for that one but we’ll see

The derby is set in stone as long as one of the teams make it to the quarter finals, imo. I do agree that it will likely be an early kick-off though.

The Leicester game is a good shout too.

whatever happens to be Your final settlement, please do not forget to:

a) stop by Belgrave Clinic and enquire if they can arrange a make up of my fading hairstyle, granted they are gonna do it along the most congested spell of my professional schedule

b) kindly drop me a PM, so that if I happen to be around for one of my bandwagoner trips, we can share a few and, more importantly, I may have the opportunity to shake Your old man's hand on the triffic job he's done.

Thanks mate.

Realistically is there any chance of getting near the front when greeting players?

Very easy chance mate, head over a little earlier than normal and you will be fine. Get to the entrance around 90 to 105 mins before kick off and you will be sorted
