We need a defensive midfielder and a striker. And we look knackered.

Which dinky chip was that? If it's the one two with Sane, looked pretty standard to me and it was Sane with the work still to do

No, the chip to Gundogan which he scored from.

ah ! at least you were watching ! I thought i was going daft for a minute , left footed chip from sergio wasn‘t it ?

Pep says Delph out ‘for a while’ with a knee injury. On paper our next tough league match is on February 25 away to Arsenal.

I think the latter is very pertinent. That game in midweek seems to have taken effect while the Dippers got a 9 day rest. The amount of basic passes that went astray were numerous.

It was, pure and simple. That ten minute spell when we decided to pass to them in defence.
Those two goals were the killers, and TBH we were lucky Sane only hit the post in between.

Thought we lost the out ball in midfield.
Fern/Gundogan Just wasn’t working.
This put pressure on the back four with the ball constantly going backwards.
Why was Silva not put on.
Like Kev, he turns on his first touch by taking it on the correct side. i.e. away from the guy on his back this is why we end up on the front foot more often than not when they receive the ball.
It wasn’t happening today.
We lost control of the centre in the second half and put a strain on the defence.
And Liverpool forwards are no mugs.

Hope we learn from this and move on quickly.

Yep, although I was having difficulty with stop start streams.

And I realise that my posts starting to look a bit sarcastic and twatish (not the intention!) just the emotion and really was disappointed with a lot of them out there not just Serg.

5 minutes of defensive madness from us cost us big time plus we allowed ourselves to be bullied at times today , that is not us but some great young players and a keeper would have learned a lot from that experience today . Ederson showed us he isn't quite the finished article today , we needed a calm old head in defence just to calm things down but Pep and the players will learn from it and we will be stronger the huge games that await us at the business end of the season . We take this one on the chin and stay classy for the run in we have the biggest lead ever at the top of league .

Ps what an utter cunt Tyler is , I am deffo getting a ban on twitter tonight !!!

Hell of a lot of knee jerk on here ATM.
Sergio inches away from being a hero, now seems to have become the villain of the piece.
The truth is that we didn't defend well enough.

You're right on the sloppy goals. But I'm afraid Aguero was offside, whilst the two players behind him who would've banged it in the net, I don't think were. Summed up his day

Why do you need to blame someone all the time?

I don't think I'm someone who usually points fingers. But in this case, his positioning was poor and he should have been able to get to that ball.

That's just bullshit.

I agree with you there Noolie, it was what I immediately thought. He really should have got a hand to it, but started too far to his left.

It did look as though Fernandinho would have scored if Sergio left it.

good points , but marriner was a cnut to let the foul go against stones. Bitching and moaning aside , you get a shoulder in the back to force you off the ball and it‘s hard to recover.

i liked the way we still tried to play football to the end . Another four or five minutes and we would have got the equaliser.

Fern had lots of possession but was giving the ball away all game. Gundo was terrible first half but had a better second half. Agree Merlin needed to come on and would have linked play together which was badly missed today.
