I worked in Sheffield for 20 years so it would be good to see the Blades come up (I always preferred them to the Owls), but might have to wait till next season.

Derby would be good too. I remember going in the Osmaston End with my Derby-supporting mate at the old Baseball Ground, then invading the pitch when City played their in the last game of that season. The Futchers played for us and Derby were relegated even though they won. Happy days.

The ex brother-in-law is a die-hard 'Elland Roader' but I still can't get the awful and enduring taste of the Revie years out of my system.

One thing in their favour is that their supporters hate the SCUM with fervent animosity that borders on the religious and, in all fairness, they are a big Club still, in some ways. The PL certainly needs more serious competition to push teams like the Salford Titanic, Arsenic and Liverpuddle into mid table and opposition that won't lie down and die when they go to places like the Swamp.

Still don't know how I'd feel though, if they came up.

I know how I'd feel, Chiggy me old mate. I'd think to myself, "The sooner these sheep-shagging cavemen go back to the second division where they belong, the better."

I wouldn't mind seeing Norwich back. They are a little bit inbred, but definitely a very pleasant and knowledgeable set of fans in my experience - even the police came up to us and started talking about football last time I was there. Plus we always seem to beat them. And I remember them putting bayern out of Europe. Ho ho ho. Sadly, not this season, I fear.

I must admit Chinners, I'd quite like to see Sheffield United come up and, as has been mentioned previously, they've always seemed a more "preferable" Club than the Owls (must be the dastardly aroma of Howard Wilkinson that still permeates the atmosphere at that Club although, in his playing career, he did turn out for both Sheffield teams).

Their team that day also included a very young Howard Kendall.

Mmmmm.....I always thought he was lacking in technical ability when the ball was at his feet and that he was a veritable battering ram, rather than a silky, ball playing No 9 (hence the Mourinho reference)......and for a lot of his time, he was in the lower Divisions.

If you, saw a lot of him JC, a lot more than I would have, then I'll stand corrected, although remaining dubious. Football is about different opinions and the game was quite 'raw' in those far off days but I always looked for artistry over physicality.

My rag brother modelled himself on him, so I was fraternally obliged to see Dawson in a favourable light (especially as my brother is ten years older than me!)
