Newcastle at home next up

Postby City64 » Wed Jan 17, 2018 9:10 pm

Time to move on from by the far the worst week of the season so far . Struggling Newcastle Utd are the visitors to the Etihad this Saturday 5.30 pm KO , possibly the ideal game for us to get back on track with Newcastle in dire straits on and off the field . Newcastle fans deserve so much better , you can only admire and respect there loyalty and they turn up in there thousands home and away every week but have a complete snake in Ashley running there club . On the other hand they have a top manager in Rafa Benitez although he cuts a very frustrated figure at Toon these days . Personally I am looking forward to this , it is like the start of the run in to hopefully the title , midday train into the city center for beers luvin 5.30 KOs
Not really here

I used to respect their loyalty but quite a few of their fans turned into pricks when we struck lucky, just what they're wanting now.

Wierd though, that we class a bad week as losing to Klanfield and possibly losing out to a supposed 26 million a year player. Many years ago we wouldn't have blinked an eye but said 'We're in for what, don't make me laugh!'.

Oh, how life has changed, and I for one am loving it.

As for the game, I used to dread fixture this years ago, nowadays, like many others, I don't expect a win, but I don't expect a loss.

Time to get back in the saddle mate, just as you say.
In the words of my Old Man, "Life will never be the same without Man City, so get it in while you can".

The ideal game as you say. On paper anyway.

Aguero was roundly criticised by the media for his performance against the dippers and that doesn't happen too often, so I expect him to do to Newcastle what he normally does.

Big performance and big win here to get the next long run going. After a decent rest too.

Really looking forward to it.

We have a nice run of fixtures in the next few weeks so have the perfect opportunity to bounce back from the Liverpool defeat.

From mid-Feb we have a congested match list and some tough games so it’s important to pick up maximum points before then.

Hopefully Dave is back. We missed him against Liverpool. If he was in the line up we would have won.

They will park the bus. But although they did that at Newcastle we had - and missed - loads of chances, unlike Huddersfield and Southampton.

I expect us to take a few of those this time.

Team will be angry. They wont like us when we're angry!

I dont think Dave would have been able to stop those silly mistakes, however if he was there we would have controlled possession better, so...

Anyway we just need to win again against Newcastle. Two defeats and Sky would blister themselves quite badly...

Fancy an Aguero hat-trick, might even put a tenner on it.

You'd get better odds for 5 goals.

I think I do HS.

I get so fearful of our joyful journey coming to an unfair and unmerited ending.......it's what all these years of City can do to you.

I think we need a decent win, and if we scraped a 1-0 (yes 3 points is 3 points), I would view that as disappointing.
The rags, pulled 4 goals back on our goal difference last weekend, and I'd love to see normal service resumed, so whilst +18 is OK lets get back to over 20 quickly as possible

I can see the rags turning Burnley over, so I would love win big.....I also think we will be up for it...We finished against the dippers with them hanging on, so I think we will have no confidence problems. Confidence doesn't seem to be an issue, and if there can be anything to draw from last week's performance, it will be to give us a chance to refocus.

I then hope Spuds put the rags to the sword the following week, so the status quo will be as before, and quieten the whordes of rag bitches

Tha barcodes will look into it one of two ways, playing City after a defeat is seeing them at their most vulnerable...However, I see the other point of view, playing us at the moment we have been wounded, and time for the ultimate revenge.

Of course it's all speculation, but we are a different animal these days, and as long as we can get all the frustrations from last week sorted, it will be job done.

Wouldn’t want to be relying on Spuds beating the Rags.

Agreed, the media alway give Spurs the big up about their habile style of play but it seems to generally go hidding when they play the rags
