I think it's a continental thing, Zürich. They just said exactly the same on Dutch telly.

This.

Moreover, it signifies that we are not slipping into a bad run (which the media are fervently hoping and praying for), following our unfortunate events at Klanfield.

Agree.
Zinchenko was doing great but got skinned a few times towards the end when not just him, but several others looked to have dropped concentration a bit.
I don’t like to see that although it looks at times that we start playing training drills at the back, when we think we have it won with minutes left.

I’d prefer to see something of a more ruthless streak in us. That game should have been ended a lot earlier and we can’t keep giving freebies to teams like their goal today.

Aside from all that, another 3 points notched off. Just keep winning.

Played well. Got the win. Kun back in amongst the goals, not that he ever really wasn't with 22 for the season! Zinchenko looked tidy as well. Silva back as well.

12 points clear again and further boosting the goal difference. Sets us up nicely for the semi final next week. Good times

Isn't a perfect hattrick three goals in the same half without any other goals scored in between them?

No - right foot, left foot, header.

Ah well, one of them cultural differences. My definition was the one we used in Sweden when I grew up. Three goals was a hattrick, but three consecutive ones in the same period was a "true" or perfect hattrick.

You sure that isn't mooseball or Scandinavian ice lacrosse, or some other strange Nordic passtime you're thinking of?

I have to say i am a massive Zinchenko fan. I can forgive him the odd error. He has contributed hugely when called upon and he will continue to learn. Hope pep doesnt get a replacement left back as it doesnt appear he will. Pep has given him a chance to play in a position that isnt his natural position, but he instils confidence in him and he sees him in training and sees how he fits in with his teamates.

I think careful consideration is given to players within the squad before we look outside of. We've heard regularly that pep expects his squad to be versatile and play more than one position and for me Zinchenko has earnt the right. You know pep will give him all the encouragement he needs. A massive well done to the lad.

From what I have seen Zinchenko has two issues with having to play as a defender. First he isn't very quick. Maybe not slow but in a race against a quick player he will always lose out.

Second is his lack of experience as a full back. That's mostly about reading the game so his lack of pace doesnt get exposed.

Probably both those issues contributed to their goal but so too did the miscontrol by their player which wrong footed basically everyone and allowed the quick forward pass which caught us out. Maybe also Stones could have stayed more central but ge also was thrown I think by the miscontrol.

Having said that I thought Zin was very good today. excellent touch and very sensible ue of the ball too. Good player
