Bernardo was new to the league. Mahrez isn't. Pep the shit chatter strikes again.

Probably something similar to what he was saying to Bernardo this time last year, your guess is good as mine.

Problem is though he's not even looked like he can do the basics. Forget this "get used to Pep's system" he is tripping over the ball FFS

Not for City no. We thought Bony could do the basics.

I wouldn't worry about him tripping over the ball for too long mate, he won premier league player of the year. So it's obviously not the norm for him.

I'd be more concerned if he wasn't fitting the system.

He'll be fine.

So all of a sudden he's forgotten the basics of football?

Ok, how about this, is this a question.

Can you think of any reason a player with such incredible technique may be tripping over the ball?

Similar to Bony he's used to being a big fish in a small pond.

I can't believe you're comparing him to Bony.

I'd say it's more likely down to indecision as a result of trying to adapt to a new system/style.

FWIW I have my reservations about bringing him in but I'm not willing to judge the bloke after just 250 minutes of football. Almost every single player in the squad had a settling in period where they weren't producing anywhere near what they're capable of, I don't see any reason Mahrez should be any different.

Otter came in and just destroyed the league so I'll judge everyone by his standard.
