NEXT SEASON

Whilst we can bemoan our ill luck with the long term injuries we have and are carrying this season, it hasn't stopped us being 15pts clear of our nearest rival and playing some of the best football I have ever seen, not just in the 61yrs of following City but in comparison to some of the greatest teams ever. In that I include international teams too.

If we think this season is good, then what the hell can we expext next season?
A fully fit squad, the return of Mendy, Delph, Sane, Jesus, another year on with Diaz, Foden, possibly Tosin, Maffeo and other loan returness.

Despite the foreboding new FFPs they want to impose on us, we will undoubtedly buy again and strengthen in the summer window. Our ageing squad of 12 months ago has been dramatically modernised with younger quality players.

As orgasmic as this season has already been, and could well be as we approach the sharp end when the pots are being handed out, this season may well only be a practise session for what is about happen.

Our owners wanted a club that dominated football, we already are that club domestically, though we have yet to be fully tested in Europe.

Hang on to your hats, this could get very very seriously......multiorgasmic!!!!!!!!!

Don't think there will be many new faces arriving in the summer. The squad is in good condition they have done a great job overhauling it. Not a lot left to be done short term. Maybe a striker.

Next season we will be champions defending our titles. Not as easy. So we will see.
Get this season done first!!

Can't see Vinny here next season TBH.
Maybe a back up to Mendy as a specialist let back.
Mangala will leave
Maybe Danilo might ask to leave for more first team action
Fred in to give backup for fernandinho
Yaya to leave
Another attacker (maybe Mahrez)

I think it will be interesting

If they do not address the constant career threatening fouls committed against our star players, then next season might become a fuckign joke of a seaosn just to remain in the top 4 !

I'm going to, use my season ticket much more next season .... apart from that I only see a couple of back up squad players and probably 1 big signing in the summer (a striker) as sadly I think Pep will finally trade Aguero in ...

Can't see how it can be much better than this season myself. To expect more just seems greedy and a tad unreasonable to me.

I am happy.

I think you could be right about the departures. Depending on who becomes available in attack, I could also see us cash in on Kun. Wonder if we will keep Delph and Zinchenko as back up full backs or whether we will use them in their more favoured positions.

Deffo depends on what happens this season... and we are way off knowing what that is going to be. the cup final, FA cup, CL..

PG has a vision of how he wants football played.. Mendy was a part of that with two strikers up front, he said it himself more than once.

So we haven't seen that yet, he is going to want to do that i rekon whatever happens this season.

If we dont win CL then there is an obvious challenge to aspire to for Club, Players and Manager.

Everyone knows how difficult it is defending a title, so if say we hold two or even fucling three for arguments sake, we have to be on 100% metal to defend those...

That said these individual players and the team and i believe PG too have room to grow further... and everyone needs a challenge no?
I believe i have seen Guardiola change his approach, i think he is learning and that bodes well.

Ultimately though the club under this owner have and are engineering the absolutely best environment to attract, develop and give legs to ambition and excellence... without equivalent in football. I think Pep is enjoying being here, in a way he couldn't at BFC.
There is a very good chance that this combination could smash all records beyond what any of us thought even possible.

So i am going to buy a hat ( what type is best for these things John ? )

On paper, next season will be Pep's last season, so for me, that should be our first concern

To be honest, I think there is just about 10 % chance of him staying after the summer of 2019, but we have an advantage there, Ferran and Txiki. Them being here, might give us a chance of keeping Guardiola more than the official 3 seasons. We shall see, but I wouldn't get my hope up just yet.

Now, regarding the squad:

Left Back - I think this will depend a lot on how Zinchenko will perform. If he will keep impressing like he did so far, I think we will keep Mendy and Delphinho and Zini as back-ups.
Central back - I might be the only one who thinks Vinnie will stay. Laport's move, weird as it sounds, consolidated his squad role, but his playing time, which is already really low, will become almost minimum
Midfield - Yaya is going and Fred is coming
Forward/At.Mid - Mahrez as a top target, I reckon. But in the case that Leicester refusal annoyed us, we might hear in the next months about someone we had no idea we were targeting.

midfield - bring in fred and the new yaya from lille who we were linked with in jan
forwards - dybala

On paper yes, but what bigger challenge could he have? His legacy here could seal his place amongst the immortals.
