With short sleeved shirts I just don't get it. I mean why wear gloves and wear a short sleeved shirt?

What the fuck you on about socks and shorts have always been part of a football kit. It just strikes me as bizarre that some players wear gloves with a short sleeved shirt in the middle of winter.

It's not too bad actually. Lots of six fingered gloves will be worn in the home end tomorrow btw

I think i get this. I used to get hot when I ran for a running club. Even in winter. By this I mean the trunk of the body/arm pits head etc.
When I ran in the freezing cold, I would still like to wear a t-shirt, as I knew once I warmed up I would be warm enough. Problem is, if it was very windy, your hands would get cold, even if your body and head were really warm.
I think it's just the bodies extremeties. There isn't enough blood to feel warm. A good example, or explanation is predator. Yes, the Arnie one.
He sees in infra red - if you have seen a person through infra red goggles it would help understand why....
Long winded, but I have a lot of time on my hands!

Ezz is spot on feet (why do you think socks and shoes, or for that fact when we get hot/go on holiday anywhere sunny we wear flip flops?) second to feet are the hands then the head.
So 64, whilst those of us who are more folically challenged than Sergio wear hats on the terrace, the players will probably over heat and be shit at headers wearing a bobble hat
The torso is next (vital organs) followed by the legs and arms last....
Hope that helps Gillie?

I did question whether the original post should have been on or off topic when I saw the title of just 'gloves'!
64 - I have some suggestions as to why they may have taken your hat. It may have been offensive, too big as to obstruct someone's view, or perhaps it had been reported stolen. I'm sure there are many other possible reasons, but we need more info on the hat to establish why.

some people have poor circulation in their extremities. thus they get cold in their fingers and toes much faster than the rest of their body
I'm not really a City fan. I'm just here for attention.

Socks with shoes - same argument applies.
This could get very confusing - I'll just throw this into the mix, to add to the chaos :

You need shoes not to slip and you need socks not to get blisters and to keep your shinpads in place.
