Huge vote of confidence in Kompany ahead of Stones and Kaporte. I’m surprised. Neither CB has much pace although both fbs can cover I suppose. Disappointed but not surprised that Merlin doesn’t start. I will really be surprised if Sane makes it into the pitch.

Good win to set up a comfortable second leg. Going to the match. Come on City!

All that can be heard is „mind the gap , mind the gap man united“,

and since we are on a free tram to the stadium „Park the tram ,park the tram maureen”

great atmosphere in town , peaceful and loads of singing and chatting with the Basel fans

Bit surprised at the team selection with both Delph and Kompany in. Either of them could pick up an injury at any time so the use of subs will have to wait til late in the game, just in case. Maybe Merlin isn't fit enough to start but the bench is looking good again.

Correct. But as a cautionary note, as long as we progress over the tie tonight's result isn't the be all and end all. A win would be great, but a score draw and a win back at our place would be acceptable

saving the others for the big games in the domestic cups. if we don’t beat these over 2 legs then there’s something wrong.

Without saying mate. When you get to this stage it becomes 4 halves of football and I'm sure Pep and the team will be thinking the same.

On another note, loving the line-up tonight on BT. Fat Frank nd Dunney, BT are starting to understand that it's not just about pandering to the old Sky 4 fans, we've got a whole fanbase that needs support as well.

We often lose when Kompany talks big, with respect be humble, he should just keep his mouth shut until after the game.
I think we will win 2-1 tonight :D

Good to see Dave, Sane and Stones on the bench, reckon they'll get a few minutes if we have a lead. Either way, it shows that they are nearly there.

Huge boost.

What a draw for you, eh mate.

Have a good'en, absolutely love the away draws in Europe. Just something about the atmosphere, and the beer ;-)

Of course he can back it up, his big talk was about the team, not himself.
