Yes if we get through this.

Remember vinnie delph and sane rusty. Will only improve. Great result. Vinnie and sane looked better at the end. Delph is superb.

Great result. I wouldn’t call it a vintage performance by any stretch of the imagination but it’s fair to say that there was quite a few rusty performances there.

No harm at all, getting game time into Delph and Sane as well as Silva and Vinny.
I thought we were so clearly better than Basel that they knew it, we knew it, and as a result we never got out of second gear.

People were minding themselves but some of our play was very indecisive.
It could have been a lot more than 4-0 except we looked like we couldn’t make our minds up at times.

All in all though, job done and an away performance that the rest of the competition would envy.

I have to give credit to the Scum for tonight's result. After the last performance by an English team there, Basel were obviously suffering from over-confidence.

Actually enjoyed BT Sport’s commentary tonight. Quite a few digs in at United and others who have come a cropper there.
Savage very complimentary.
Said United were beaten 1-0 here and City have simply taken them apart.

Wouldn't be the worst case to get the Rags if they get through, there is no way they could live with us over two legs

Not for me. Get them and Liverpool out of this competition as quick as possible.

to prove just how fucking brilliant we are i'd like all the english teams to go through
5 out of 8 1/4 finalists
4 out 4 in the semis
then us to smash the dippers 5-0 in the final

Great win tonight that allows us to rotate in the middle of so.e important games to come.

Agree.
We could rightly fcuk up their season. Make them sick of the sight of us.

Nicked this from the Grauniad:

Basel probably aren't as bad as City made them look. You could see them winning at home against more mediocre premier league opposition.
