Arsenal PL game

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

What I've enjoyed about our play this season is that when teams do get a bit argey bargey with us, we don't take a backward step. We fight back. We go in hard too. Normally it's Ferny leading that charge. With him out I hope someone else steps up.

I really want to see Danilo in that DMC role. Something tells me this could be the turning point in his City career.
If he nails it we can also relax and look forward to a fresh Fern in the games that really count.

I think Laporte may be good in that defensive mid role. He likes to spray passes around and seems good with the ball at his feet.

Let’s not forget when Vince came here he was playing defensive mid for us.

BBC report Arsenal will take a decision in the next hour and a half or so in conjunction with the police on whether the match goes ahead.

One twitterer near ground says conditions horrendous. Temperature minus 5. Probably suits City if it’s called off. Fresher for Chelsea and match can be easily rearranged for March 18 when both sides have a free weekend having been knocked out of the Cup. The key is whether gritting can cope with the very severe freezing. I guess Arsenal want to take an early decision to avoid abortive travel for City team and fans.

What a joke ! since when has the PL , FA or anyone thought about City fans ? Could have called it last night to save all the trouble.

It really wouldn't surprise me if it goes ahead. Mind you , there were games in Europe last night and the problems fans have getting to the games. So....

In a perverse way i can't help thinking Arsenal really want to play this game. Perhaps so they can sack Whinger afterwards ?

The game is going ahead and its not nearly as bad as some are suggesting although it's fucking cold. Arsenal will be keen to play it given Fern out etc. Yaya has travelled as part of the squad

Sterling doesn’t seem to have travelled. Tweeted a picture of himself in the gym. Seemed happy to be in the warm.

this was actually going to be my question.

with Raheem and Fernandinho out and Jesus barely back wouldnt it be better for us for this to be postponed? sure, other players could in turn be injured for the rescheduled match but maybe not.

Yes it would be better in my opinion but as there is no chance of it being called off it doesn't really matter.

Terrible that there are significant numbers of people sleeping rough in these conditions.

South Stand Balti will be pleased. Arsenal announce match on although they are continuing to monitor the weather with other agencies. Absent another announcement that’s it. City have arrived in London so ready to play.

It's either that, or he cares deeply for arsenal fans.

It was definitely the former, confirmed by his comments at the end when Tyler talked about him having to do the PodCast. RatBoy was nearly in tears (jokingly) saying that he basically couldn't be arsed after what he seen and needed to get out of their soonest; not wanting to watch us lift the cup.

The 1-0 half-time scoreline had them believing that the Arse could come back and even at 2-0 there was a chance, but that 3rd really hit hard and you could feel the angst in his voice before the 2nd, as it started to dawn that we were getting into gear whilst the Arse hit reverse.

Loved every minute of it, a real bonus to the day's events.

Pretry much the same impression I got from watching replay of the final on Sky UK coverage (as per my post on match thread)
Just phrased in better English language by our bully.

still think this is going to be a tough game, at least initially. If we can get a goal it may change in our favour.

I'm very confident we can better them in all departments including mentally, but i think this will be similar to a tough CL game that will bring the best out in us.

i'm just hoping we can take our chances and watch them collapse.

Really looking forward to this game.

Second half team and no doubt shape. Will be some changes for Chelsea. Kompany risked twice in quite quick succession.
