Oleksandr Zinchenko

Was a smart signing by Txiki and has shown us his talents, but was interesting to hear his future questioned recently, yet with good reason perhaps due to the position he is being "forced" into.

His weaknesses can leave you questioning his capacities at left wing back.

When Pep noticed this with Sane he has never played him there again.

Zinchenko has done better in some games at that position, but he has little chance to get into his best position given the talent ahead of him, and given that he is not English nor considered a HG player this is an issue for him.

If we sell, it should be for a good fee. Would be fantastic if it included a buy back clause. That would be ideal. His potential is too high.

He put a picture of his parents and him at the Etihad in front of the pitch about 2 days ago and put ‘Home’ as the caption.

Just sayin, Alaba started as a playmaker.

If he can fix his defensive approach, he can be an huge asset for us. Look at Delpinho, who the hell was thinking he could be this good as a left back.

Delph’s been OK at LB mate. Nothing special. I reckon in this team I could play left back and have an alright match.

He is only young so likely to improve a lot. However my concerns are given that he's supposed to be an attacker, he sees a lot of the ball and generally does nothing with it.

Games like weds I'd expect to see a little more creativity and chances being taken but he offered nothing.

Probably gone in the summer along with Yaya and Bravo + Delph (sadly). Casualties of us aiming to be the number one team on the planet - ever

Next season Mendy will be first choice and probably Delph second choice unless young Angelino is brought back from Holland. Where does that leave Zinchenko. On Wednesday’s evidence nowhere.

I think Delph will stay if fit. And if not fit can't be sold, so..........

Who would buy Zinch for good cash, though, and for what position? It's only in our set-up that he really can play leftback. And he's totally untried in any other position on a good level. Last season he couldn't break into PSV's team in a midfield / forward position.

A team needing to take a chance on a left winger might be interested

I think there would be takers all around Europe but not for big bucks. Some 15mil or so from likes of Monaco, Sevilla etc I reckon

Apart from weds vs basel i think he's been decent when called upon. He has improved hugely this season and if pep sees the opportunity for further improvement then why consider selling?

eggs actly this + what Noolie said above, imo.
the lad oozes tactical awareness and dedication.
Pep will work him in a even better utility player.

No Side can have a roster of 18 Michael Jordans, and I 4 one I'd quite hate it. it'd make the ball squared.

I'm not sure where this questioning of him comes from. He's stepped in and done a tremendous job, that's why Pep keeps picking him. If we're going off the midweek game then, by fuck, some people need to look at themselves rather than the players on show. A near scratch team with Yaya in the middle was never going to blossom as there weren't any real partners out there.

Zinchenko has done a good job for a stand-in LB and he has shown real potential for the future. If we sold him now we'd easily get 20 million for him, and that figure will only grow with the more games he makes.

Everybody prof's.

this.

and let's be honest, as good as he has been at LB given thats its not his natural position, he offers absolutely zero going forward. i cant remember the last time he crossed from the left or even played a through ball. yes, he's played splitting passes but those are from far deeper. when we get around the opponents box he contributes nothing offensively. i cant even remember the last time he had a reasonable shot on goal.

Good point we should sack him off for not shooting enough. FFS

That's not what I meant. I like Zinchenko and just wanted to point out that we won't get enough money for him now to warrant selling him.

I think Sané quite liked playing with him. He's been feeding Sané with a lot of good through balls this season.

not implying that's what you meant. the "this" was in agreement with your post and then i added my own, independent claim after that.
