Forgotten prospects

Just reading some articles on football365 about one game wonders and my mind drifted to some of our former academy players that never made it with us for whatever reason.

I remember Ahmad Benali being highly rated and had high hopes he'd become our home grown playmaker for years to come.

Just googled him and surprised to find out he is still only 26 and has carved out a very respectable career in Serie A. Apparently Wast Ham and Southampton were interested in him last summer. He also looks a bit like Dave Silva nowadays.

Anyone else remember any other promising players that seemed to just disappear?

I thought Lee Croft was going to be the business, also Vladimír Weiss.

Weiss has been in Qatar for a while now.

Rony Lopes has now broken into the starting eleven at Monaco, decent scoring record too.

Reece Wabara quit football to focus on his fashion label, which is apparently very successful.

Abdul Razak is journeymanning it up and changing clubs at least once a season. Currently in Sweden.

Alex Nimely is playing in Finland of all places, after stints in Romania and Norway.

Anyone know what happened to Jérémy Hélan? Did he end up in Saudi Arabia after retiring?

It’s fuckin shit mate! Loads of these shitty fashion companies are being started by ex-footballers or celebs. I’d rather get spat on by Carragher than wear the shit they do!

that Turkish bloke, City have been followed for quite a while, Cengiz Ünder... is litteraly carring AS ROMA on his shoulders since he's been given the nod.
showing annoyingly signs of leadership in addition to talent...
would struggle next to Raz and Leroy... but I wish we had been not persevering with him.

I had high hopes for Denzeil Boadu who we signed from Arsenal. Sadly he got a bad injury which kept him out for over a year and he has ended up with Sancho at Dortmund.

Think it was a foot injury that got infection after infection
