The thing is, as a man of PR, I understand where this is going.

Barcelona and Real Madrid had never player and european cup final against each other. A game of this caliber would be sold as the game of the century. I am talking BIG.
Tyson vs Holifield, Duran vs Robinson or Ali vs Foreman big.

Uefa has every interest in the world for those two to meet in a final. If you look close, since they played that semifinal, they were on different sides of the draw and could only play in the final, but other teams ruined the plan.
Barcelona vs Real as UCL would gross around 1 bil just from advertising and PR.

Yes, I think the draw is fixed. They are trying to do something that had never been done and sooner or later it will happen, but they want it to be with Messi and Ronaldo.

Just saw the video of Txiki’s reaction to the draw. He looked really pissed off. I don’t know why. Apart from Sevilla and Roma there were no easy opponents. Barca Real Bayern would certainly have been tougher.

BBC report says :'After City's director of football Txiki Begiristain said: "It's going to be a great couple of games," Reds manager Jurgen Klopp added: "I saw his face. He didn't look like it was Christmas.". Button it, Klopp!

They also say 'They are the top two scorers in the Premier League, with City finding the net 85 times in 30 games. Liverpool have scored 68 goals from the same number of matches.'. Pretty close then eh?

We have a goal difference of 65 and they've scored 68 goals... while letting in 34 (70% more than us). So not close at all lol

Messi and Tranny aren't going to be around forever so there is definitely something in what you say because we all know it's about the money for UEFA as they are just there because the old G14 allow them to be.

Looking at the draw though, if UEFA could've picked it that would've been one of the best draws that they could've had.

He was quoted as saying he was disappointed that we didn't get a team from another country "we always like to play teams from another country" or words to that effect.

So not as klipperty implied that we didn't want them (because they've already beaten us this season)...

either way, I am far from convinced that we are gonna make it this year, think it's premature, but if we have to win the Chump I will gladly take on Barca in the semis, over two legs, rather than taking the risk to face Messi on a hey day in a single tie.

By the way, that Everton game feels huge now. It would be such a relief winning that and going into the scouse-rag-scouse-spurs run on a positive note and without having to worry about league points.

Fair enough as a worry, but i think the players will all be thinking bigger... this really is the sharp end of the season starting where you would expect all games to be as good as critical. I'd much rather have a series of games where there no chance of a let up in performance mentality... like if we had West Brom or something in the middle of that run. I think the only thing that City have to fear is complacency. On top of our game we can beat anyone.

I really think the players will be relishing this series of games.

My view too.

We should prioritise and not put pressure on ourselves.
Rest as many of the first 15 as possible for the Dippers Match
. Play kids in PL.
Close out PL after Spurs match.

But we will not do that.
