When were the last times Barca, Madrid or Bayern were drawn together before the semis? Serious question.

Last season.

Barca-Bayern and Madrid-Juve that season.

Barca and Madrid have only ever met twice in the Champions League.

In the 2002 semis when Madrid were top-ranked by UEFA coeff and United, in the other semi, were second-ranked. Barca were ranked 4th at the start of the season.

In the 2011 semis when, well exactly the same as in 2002 actually except this time it was Barca that were top-ranked. Madrid were ranked 13th at the start of the season.

Anyone care to work out the odds of Barca and Madrid never meeting in the quarters?

In the past 20 seasons (since runners-up could qualify, too), both teams have made it to the quarters on 10 occasions. However, in 01-02, due to the way the tournament was formatted, they couldn't have been drawn together in the QF. So that's 9 seasons out of 20 where a 1 in 7 likelihood could have happened.

If you threw a 7-sided dice 9 times, and it didn't land on a particular number once, you wouldn't be overly surprised. It's not overly unlikely.

Edit: Just did the maths. It's a 24.973% chance.

Neverind the question of the likelihood, I am just trying to understand what a seven sided dice looks like??

So the circus kicks off at 11:00 (UK) and is followed by the Europa draw at 12:00 ( I really hope Whingers wankers get Atletico), which given that there are only 8 balls to draw we can expect 45 minutes of horse shit first.

No mention of who is fixing doing the draw itself

Barca, Real and Bayern to all avoid each other is a given.

I'm going:
Dippers v Barca
Us v Seville
Bayern v Juventus
Real v Roma
