Champions League Quarter Final Draw

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

The only way we get the due credit for an amazing season will be to beat the scousers imo.

It will be boiled down to this. If we lose to the scousers our red media will be all over it, they will milk it as a Pep failure.

My fear is we go there and were too attacking in first leg, we need to go there and keep it tight.

I back 4/1 bets on a over 3.5 aggregate basis.

We bring our A game, we go through. We lost at their place on the back of a busy festive programme and had players missing. Our defending was shambolic and to be fair to the Dippers their finishing was exceptional. If those same conditions arise again, we are in trouble. I doubt that will happen. We wouldn't be scared of playing Wigan again would we?.
Balotelli......that's a brilliant finish.

Looks like Wednesday April 4 at Anfield Tuesday April 10 at the Etihad. Good news minimal travelling to the away tie! Home tie second is great. What an atmosphere! Can’t wait.

That's the draw I wanted. We can put these cunts back into their open-top bus. Cunts.

Will Mendy be back?

Can play full strength with two attacking fullbacks - we'll murder them

True.

This challenge will be embraced by the club, as will a semi with Barca and a final with whoever.
These are the type of matches that we have been building towards.
If we cannot beat the Dippers then I bet Pep will feel like he failed or at the very least a wasted opportunity.
We are better than the Dippers, we should win.

If you aim to be the best then you have to beat the best.
That challenge awaits in the semis and the final ;)

i suppose facing the dippers in the final would have been worse. now even if they manage to beat us, there are still two more rounds for them to lose. dippers winning the CL does not bear thinking about...

SB I hope you do not mind me saying this - but that mindset is the old City.
We have moved on from there (I am a City supporter since 1969).
We are a fantastic team now, in a fantastic set-up.
We are better than the Dippers (how many of the Dippers team would get a place in ours?).

This tie is ours to lose.
I am really looking forward to it.

I don't think the draw itself is fixed, but I think the CL has been set up in such a way as to minimize the chance of upsets, and I think referees are subconsciously influenced by the fact that if they make a mistake in favour of one of the "smaller" teams, it'll be more damaging to their career than if they do so in favour of one of the "bigger" ones.

Whatever people say about the draw being fixed, there simply isn't anything statistically overly unlikely that's happened over the years, whether you look at things from the perspective of individual clubs (who have risen and fallen in the rankings) or from the ranking positions themselves. Any other way of looking at it essentially relies on emotions, and there's probably someone on a Barca forum somewhere out there whimpering that the same 2 or 3 teams always get an 'easier' draw than them, too.

It’s amazing that they think they walloped us at Klanfield, I thought that bar our 10 mins of madness we legitimately won the game 3-1. They seem to think that late goals don’t count and we almost got an equaliser at the death.
I can’t see us having another 10 mins of madness as Vinnie will probably start alongside Otter, pace would be my only slight concern. Bendy may also be back for that one, I can’t see them winning at ours so I’m quietly confident, and the more the red media hype it up the happier I will be !!

This for me as well we had a bad 10 minutes
We will not do that again and the win at our place never happened . What a great time to be a Blue I don’t fear these fucks at all . And I am sure our lads will be looking at this as a perfect way to amend the blip at Klanfield
