Nigel?

Hidey time..

not comparing like for like. robertson didn't kick through (round?) sterling as well.
anyway, what last night has proved is that var is going to be pointless in football. half the world saw that as a pen, the other as a good challenge.

On this one I'm with Nigel. Robertson's on Sterling was scarcely a push and I was actually more upset about the fact that the ball landed on his outstretched arms.
The Juventus challenge yesterday was rash and clumsy. Had he got just a little touch of the ball after jumping straight into the Real player and kicking his leg around him, I could have understood the sentiment that the penalty was harshly given, but he didn't touch the ball at al, so to me it was a stonewall penalty. (Not as stone wall as Sterlings in the first leg, mind.)

We don't have a ref at the world cup because our nominated official (cuntingberg) quit part way through the season and it was too late for the FA to nominate a replacement.

Nothing to do with our shit refs, as in all honesty even though they're woeful they're a he'l
l of a lot better than their counterparts from around the world.

Interesting that Atkinson saw that little contact last night but not Kun's near broken leg challenge on Saturday. Seems to be something in common with regards to the status of the team that benefited from both decisions.

I really disagree with this.
In my early days I was watching a shit load of football and i have never seen more absurd decision than those that came from english refs.

I mean Graham Poll, ffs, his moment with Simunic at the World Cup was a reference in the history of stupidity. They are poor, and many of them are also bent.

Going back to last night, that moments has penalty circumstances, however, giving that, at that moment, from his position, was very very risky. I wouldn't had given it because it was not fair.

My biggest issue is why Buffon was sent off and why did Benatia still continued and not received the second yellow. I think this new rule is absurd, if I kick a fucker in the bollox, they will only give a penner and I can walk? Absurd.

why was buffon sent off???
are you serious?? his reaction warrants a long, long ban. it was fucking disgraceful. no matter what you think of a decision you cannot try to intimidate a referee like that.

I think he's talking in relation to Benatia, who should've received a yellow if it was a penalty.

And about kicking somebody in the balls, well, just go and ask Lukaku about his attempted ball juggle, which was deemed to be OK by the faceless powers that be.

Remember how many "fuck offs" Oliver received from Rooney on camera? Did he get a long ban?

It was never a penalty, rubbish ref . Should be sent back to school to learn how to play the game before he refs again . Absolute garbage from Oliver .

Just a curiosity. Genuine question:

If this had happen in the other area, would Oliver's decision be the same?
