Will the FA really sell off Wembley and would it be good for the game?

I can't see that selling it to a bloke who wants to bring American football to the UK will be a good thing, but on the other hand, the FA are such a useless shower that perhaps it can't be worse.

May be if he converts it to a US football venue, the FA could use the money to build another stadium outside London and with decent transport links to the rest of the country like they should have done in the first place.

I don't really care but how the fuck can you sell the 'National' stadium?

And I'd want all public money paid back and the rest being used immediately.acrods the league's, not sat in some old fuckers expense account!

Until they move it to the Midlands they can fuck off.

If they invest it into youth team coaching and pitches all over the country then it might be a good deal. At the moment we don’t really have a national side who need such a grand stadium!

Training those coaches, maintaining community pitches, investigating literally into the grass roots is money better spent at the moment in my opinion.

I agree wholeheartedly with the last three posts.

I understand that the FA should be answering questions as to the outrageous costs of rebuilding Wembley, the decision to allow private boxes etc and why they didn’t relocate to the Midlands.

However the very fact that after so much apparent management and planning, just a few years into the operation of the new Wembley they come up with the very idea oif selling this “Royal throne” of this “Sceptered Isle”, smacks of something smelling very rotten at the FA.

After all of the bullshit about this most awkward of places to get to,for major events, They want to flog it off ? someone is either going to make a lot of dosh out of this or there is something wrong.

Can you imagine if City Football Group put a bid in? The world would go into meltdown.

And then dig a tunnel directly there from The Etihad. Make it our second home.

And ban the rags from playing there

It actually makes sense for the Sheikh to buy it in anticipation of using as a home base for a future England NFL team franchise - London City Sharks, I can see it now. (It would still techincally be a football team, just not OUR kind of football)
