interesting that for a few weeks Pep has been saying that City dont necessarily need cover for Fernandinho as Ilkay & Zinchenko can play there. now, however, Zinchenko doesnt even make the squad for Wembley and Pep says City are trying for another midfielder to cover for Fernandinho. hm.
I'm not really a City fan. I'm just here for attention.

Pep says they are after one more signing as defensive midfield. Renewed talk of Julian Weigl. Would love it.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is expecting to complete a loan deal for Daniel Arzani 'in the next few days'.

The Scottish Premier League champions are hoping to add the Australian wonderkid to their squad for the season but first need him to sign for Manchester City on a permanent basis.

Why are we still helping these pricks out?!

NT having an multi-epiphany
anyway according to the undisputed sage of City - Sam Lee - our elite have now let it be known that we are not interested in

❌ Pjanic
❌ Thiago
❌ Kovacic
❌ Verratti
❌ Weigl

so that leaves only Rabiot & Lemina & Ramsey & De Jong & Ndombele & ? to be added when nothing happens before the deadline
this one does look OK - bit like the lad we sold to Celtic

(Fred Eyre apparently said Zinchenko is on his way, while summarising on the match for Radio Manchester yesterday.
A Zinch departure is the litmus test for another signing - so the future is looking pink or blue if Fred's right (for once)

Nah, but I imagine a Gündoğan departure (rumours Inter are sniffing) would be. While the Zinch can do a job, he's not essential. I reckon Delph & Gündoğan (& maybe even Claudio Gomes?) should be able to fill in for Fern just fine. If we're looking for a smooth transition away from Fern to somebody who has the quality to take over next season-ish (akin to Bernie last season), a new addition is inevitable. I don't see that in Gun Dog somehow.

Afraid not - at least 2 years before 21 and he was only with us one season.
Breaking news - Kovacic has gone on strike!
