Surely the German rags don't believe in giving in to insane demands.

On other news, I really hope we don't get Alves. These links with him are getting more and more often.

I'd take Alves for a season - sort of player we need in the latter stages of the chumps league

alves is in the bellamy mould.

Supposedly in for a young Argentinian, Thiago Almada, who plays for Velez Sarsfield, for £16M. He is an attacking midfielder and the usual comparisons to Messi have been made already. A loan to Sporting Lisbon has then been mooted.

A massive no from me as well. Can’t see any legs in this rumour though to be honest

Like I said earlier in this thread, would take him for a season. If it is true that he turned us down because of his Missus, then that is not going change is it? Back to that kid for Juventus

If Trippier went to an PL side short on HG players the fee would be MUCH higher.

It's:

1) the HG fee tax for top sides, most of whom don't have many players of the right quality to play regularly and are HG.
2) PL clubs have more money than anyone else to spend and sellers look to exploit this.

I think he's being moved on because he likes a drink. Miss training, disciplined, that sort of thing.

Although it only seems to be me that has that somewhere in the back of my memory

If the (2 day) late arrival, jet lag and rushed games in stupid heat aren't acceptable reasons for lack of 'engagement'... then idiocy is the only thing I see here. Fuck 'em.

Thought we played with an intensity and professional quality not usually apparent in pre-Season FRIENDLIES. We respected them by taking some of Europe's biggest stars, and given time constraints I thought the players put themselves to the public quite well.
