Just noticed Jacob Davenport has been signed by Blackburn. No mention of a fee from the BBC though

if gunn goes to soton for £15m as is being speculated that’ll be £31m for 2 players with 8 league games for us between them for us... mental.
roberts and tosin will probably get us another £20/25m as well

Good player and in my humble opinion will shine like Trippier.

I don't agree mate. Trips has always (since joining City) played as a right back. Zinch isn't a left back. He may well shine in another position but definitely not as a left back. He was caught out quite a few times last season.

trippier was the stand out player when i watched us lose the 2nd leg of the fa youth cup final at stamford bridge 10 or so years ago. all the focus was on kakuta (where is he now?!) and sturridge but trippier was class. as was mee. great to see them having such good careers.

Mee and Trips were mistakes, Mee has become outstanding at what he does, Everton, signed the wrong one when the splashed the cash. Tripps was better than Glichy or Sagna and perfect under Zabbs wing !! if Pep was manager at the time never would have been allowed to go.

Easy said with hindsight, would Trippier and Mee have developed into the players they are if instead of playing regular football a tier down they were playing second fiddle in City's squad?
Trippier was competing with Micah and Nedum, not with Clichy who played on the opposite side or Sagna who signed 2 years after Trippier left.

Poised to join Huddersfield, according to the Huddersfield Examiner...

Agreed. No chance was Trips or Keep better than what was in front of them AT THE TIME.
Should Trippier have been given more time or an option to buy back - yes. But as someone that has watched him since he was 6 playing down Nuttall Park on the same team as my brother and our family knows his, there was nothing more that I wanted than him to make it at City. It just wasn't the right time.

I know the periods were different, I was on about the massive signing on fees and 100+k a week for bang average players all be it appreciate they were winners and in no way am I dissing them, Same with MF we let De Jong go spent gazillions trying to find a Decent replacement and a minder for Yaya. All hindsight as you say. Trippier was class then and many thought he should have got game time to prove it is all I am saying even if he is a rag, his for at Burnley and Spurs was no surprise....... On Mee he has developed and its great to see.

Hazy - de Jong was offered another contract. He didnt want to sign it so we got rid rather than got ourselves in a predicament like Arsenal seem to do with every decent player they have.
If he won't sign a contract there's not a lot we can do.

If Foden makes it to to top, it will compensate for previous youth players we missed out on. I believe Phil is destined to be a superstar
