No such thing as an ITK on a footie forum when it comes to transfers.... Please don't reference BM-MCFC on here again, thanks

Will I get banned? I'll just take my case to CAS if that happens. :)

I honestly thought he'd tear the PL apart, and be a shoe-in for Young PoTY, possibly even contending for some of the senior awards. I know he was injured at the start of the campaign, but they've hardly got great squad depth on the left.

Young player mate. He's 20. May take some more time. Yes, he did it in the Championship, but the PL is a massive step up in quality.

Managerial change may have also impacted him.

He also didn't have such a great 1st season in the PL with Fulham.

We'll see.

Sam Lee has said we’ll spend £300 million this summer....but maybe....but maybe not.

His usual guesses without full commitment

I would take Alaba instead of Koulibaly. I think our defense issues are on the left side and if you look, many teams are trying to break us on that side. When our center backs are exposed from the middle and wings it is quite normal we look so bad.
For example, this year, now having Fern in front of them was our biggest downfall. Rodri couldn't do the job.

Koulibaly is decent, but he is no Kompany and he is not yet proven to this league.

Let's not forget that Napoli has the worse defense in top 7, in Italy, with 49 goals allowed.

A lot of Spanish commentary that City have reached agreement with Valencia for the Ferran Torres transfer and that he wants to come. Contracts exchanged. Sounds like he’ll be over for a medical any day.

He's in the last year of his contract and Valencia are in financial trouble.

However, we also are selling them Herrera so maybe that's part of the "deal."

Either way fantastic business.

20 years old and ready for the 1st team.

This sounds about what I expected.

Interestingly that does leave you wondering if we sign Ake as expected and are targeting Kulibaly where does Alaba fit in?

He's not a false 9 or attacking player.

Wonder if Pep is now convinced that Cancelo will be our left back next season.

Also wonder who the attacking player is...

Kane? ;)

Manchester City have completed the signing of Issa Kaboré from Mechelen, subject to international clearance.

The 19-year-old, who plays as a right-back, has put pen to paper on a five-year deal but will remain at Mechelen on loan for the duration of the 2020-21 season.

Born in Burkina Faso, he played five matches in Belgium’s top flight last term.

Everyone at City would like to extend a warm welcome to Issa and we all wish him well during his time at the Club.

Our good old pal twosips / Steven / In Esteemed Kompany (blog) has a video discussing his qualities with a Spanish football observer on his YouTube video channel worth watching:

Watch on youtube.com

What stands out is he likes to RUN AT DEFENDERS rather than slow down play (a la Mahrez) and appears to be/sounds like he is exceptionally good at low crossing and dribbling.

He's right footed and can play on both wings. He often played on the right and is strong at crossing from that side and even better off the ball (a Pep must).

Scouting report:

https://totalfootballanalysis.com/artic ... is-tactics

Some of his best traits are visible when he is isolated against his marker in a 1v1 scenario out wide on the right side. He can then use his pace and dribbling to progress the ball and get into the danger zone to set up the attack.

Oh and of course he tracks back ;)

He will regularly track back and cover for his teammates when the opposition is surging towards their goal.

Wonder how he compares to diaz? Hes same age as Garcia and pep generally doesnt trust players that young. It could be a few years before we see the best of him, i feel like we need a player for the now not in three years time.

Like Mahrez? No thanks

watching a young takent develop is more exciting, granted it's a gamble that could go either way but nevertheless still exciting

Wonder if this will mean Bern playing inside more? He’s been used mainly out wide throw season, but last season he was class when played more central.

Ferran Torres from Valencia to Manchester City, here we go! Paperworks time and total agreement reached today for €27M (with add ons). Ferran will sign his contract until June 2025 as new Citizens player.
