Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!
by PeterParker » Tue May 29, 2018 6:24 pm
With the WC around the corner, I started watching some reviews since Spain 82 and got me thinking about some amazing footballers that changed this games. So, without any running around, what is the best eleven you ever saw?
I will start. 4-3-3 formation
Zenga - Cafu, Nesta, Cannavaro, Maldini - Hagi, Maradona, Silva - Messi, Ronaldinho, Inzaghi.
coach: Guardiola.

Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

You just can't have a best 11 without Baresi.

Maybe if Kolarov gets injured, but then there's still Kolarov to come off the bench. Depends if the manager Kolarov puts him on.

Was Lake that good? Never had the chance to see him at all, not even in highlights.

I am biased, of course, but yes, I believe he was
that good and was only 21 at the time of his injury.
He'd have fitted into today's team a treat. Think KdB's role. Or Fernandinho's. Or either side as a full-back.

Assume the thread is about World Cup best XIs
Therefore.
Banks
Carlos Alberto, Beckenbauer, Baresi, Maldini
Zidane, Vieira, Maradona
Pele, Messi,Ronaldo
If it’s actual sides who have played together in a World Cup then Brazil 1970 would take some beating
If it’s actual sides who have played together than City 2018 will take some beating
