Lawro is a joke but he has a point here.

If you get the ball it doesn't matter what else you do? So he barely touched the ball, Griezmann was going to run on to the ball, and the defender caught his trailing leg. That's not a pen because he initially got the ball?

Ummmm yeah. If I get the ball then you trip over my legs that used to be called a tackle mate

Very Phips of you.

You've got a dog in this fight so no point debating with you.

Fuck up cunt on the Phips remark. I support England but that was a dodgy pen in my opinion. No need to make twat remarks on an difference of

Been really impressed how it's been used so far and not been too intrusive to the action.

Nothing like the shambles the English FA made in the fa cup

Definite pen for me. Negligible touch of the ball anyway but it's not the 80s, touching the ball means nothing in the modern interpretation of the rules. Griezman was about to shoot and the guys trailing leg took him out- definite pen.

Remember nowadays you can make a perfect tackle and then get sent off for excessive force

I don't though and I agree with him. He was going for the ball and actually touched it. If Griezmann can't avoid the tackle then that's his problem. That would have NEVER been penalty in a league game in any major league. It's only because croocked softies want to give a rim job to American fucking middle classes and give this softie image of the game that these get clled at World Cup.

I love tackling. Proper tackling. Not talking about two foot lunges from behind. Nd that was a sound sliding tackle. But I'm sure those wankers with only passing interest of the game who will "get up for it" once every four years and go and support another country can't really appreciate art of tackling.

Not talking about you by the way. You are football person. Only with wrong opinion.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I think I'd be taking Messi off. He's trying too hard and fucking everything up. Maybe he has been affected by Ronaldo doing so well.

Shocking dive from the Argy there. Hoddle trying to say it’s a penalty. Must have money on the result as no way can that be given

It's been running in the back ground checking things whilst players are getting lined up for corners etc, not even noticed it's been happening
