I was wondering whether anyone on here could help a friend of mine. He's trying to find the font we used on our shirts for the Europa League games we played in 2011-12 (against Porto and Sporting). I think we might have used the same font in our CL matches that season, but the numbering was black.

Here's a picture, if anyone can help:

It's not for a pub quiz or anything. He has a print shop, and someone's asked him to restore it.

He owns a print shop and doesn't know how to identify a font?

Download an app called "WhattheFont" and take a picture of it, it will then search and find the actual font or an alternative.

There is a good chance it will be a paid for font but there will be similar available on the net for free.

Whatthefont doesn't show up any hits that are remotely similar. I asked another friend, who used a more specialized software to determine that it's closest to American Typewriter Condensed, or something like that. However, the letter that differs most between the two fonts is the letter 'K', which is obviously used in 'Dzeko'.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, I think this is now sorted. I managed to find by asking around that the font was created by a company called Sporting ID, and is their intellectual property, and therefore isn't freely available. He's going to contact them and see if they can help him out.

Yes, can't see gods own using a free font!

You could re-draw in Illustrator if the company comes back with nothing.

Didn't Umbro do a video talking about using the font used on the original contract signed between City and Umbro back in the day. Sure there was something daft like that that they did. Think there was a YouTube video
