Wonder if the French media have mentioned it constantly and dug him out?

It is, bit as they kept winning he was given a free pass.

Let's face it, Raheem was getting it before he even kicked a ball. We'll just have to face it that the Dippers did a real job on him and there's no way back. It's down to us to show him the love.

Kane gets Golden Boot anyway, so why did he feel the need to not pass when there's a better option?

I may be wrong but I don't think Giroud even had a shot on target in the whole comp. His presence however completely changed France as an attacking force from when he was subbed on in the first game for Dembele.

Boring and rubbish world cup tournament. Var is a disaster for the game , it will only get worse.

Glad it's all over, it means we get back to the real deal.

What the fuck am I missing?

Just missed an absolute sitter from six yards out. And a minute or two earlier completely fucked up a breakaway on the right. Yet wasn’t castigated for those

I watched it on the Beeb, wonder what Twaddle made of that?

That dickhead probably managed to diminish it by saying Sterling missed more

apart from some of the decisions

Only bad one was the Griezmann dive which I’m not sure can be reviewed.
Perisic handball was 100% a penalty.

You're very consistent.

Ha ha ha, no doubt.

By the way, does Mendy get a winners medal?

I wouldn't go so far as to say 100% but can see why he gave it, Perisic did move his hand downward.

Given the precedence in this tournament then I thought he was giving it from as soon as he was alerted but his actions afterwards went against everything we have previously been told.

What needs to happen is the rules now need to be updated to reflect VAR because they are no longer fit for purpose when we see decisions like these.

Same rules still apply Beefy, deliberate or not, like I said I think Perisic instinctively moves his hand downward towards the ball so can see why he deemed it deliberate.

Like someone said earlier though ( maybe you?) , I doubt any ref spots that in real time so not a clear and obvious error

Are those raindrops God's tears due to therefereeing decisions ;-)

I think the Croatian President better watch it, it may turn into a wet T-shirt competition.

And that's my point mate, they now need to review the regulations as with VAR implemented the current governance is not fit for purpose.

Quite tasty for a head of state. Fair play to her for turning up in her replica shirt cheering her country on. I’d imagine neither Teresa May or Jeremy Corbyn were even aware the World Cup final was on and that their country very nearly were in it, much less name the team

So the next one is being held in November and December with the final a week before Christmas. It'll be interesting to see how that season works out.
Balotelli......that's a brilliant finish.
