Ten Years

At the end of this month it'll be ten years since Sheikh Mansour took over.
What a ride it's been.
And much to the chagrin of rags and dippers worldwide, the Sheikh shows no sign of getting bored with his "new toy", as widely predicted by all the bitter bas***ds.
Even Collymore's shut up.
I'm looking forward to many more years.

What a journey it's been. Some unbelievable highs to match the many lows that the old longer serving blue stalwart fans have endeared.

My high, was beating the scum at Wembley in the semi finals.......At that point I really start to believe......I had hoped, then I truly believe we could do this. One regret was my old man passing in Mar 2011, so he never got to see this. Hope he's watching up there!

That only counts as a trophy when the rags win it!

Really has been an amazing ride.

And the “billionaire’s plaything, he’ll get bored” moan has died down.

I'll never forget that morning and one of my cousins texting me to say we were now the richest club in the world. I spent the rest of the day on the internet seeing if we'd get the Robinho deal over the line (amongst others). And we are now where I'd hoped we be when this happened. Happy days.

The realisation that our our owners are supreme mega world class businessmen who to a degree have rewritten the sporting business ethic globally with quiet modesty and delivered spectacular defining attacking football that has broken almost every English record there is . Come to think of it the media should have picked up on this ???? Nah we don’t fit the media agenda and our owners know it only too well which probably motivates them even more over a longer time scale . All good innit ! dreams becoming reality the city way ! I need a beer after all that ! CTID fuck the plastics C’mon you blues !

I went to bed (GMT +9 here) and we were close to going out of business unless we sold someone and we had nobody left to sell. I woke up and we'd been taken over by the richest owner in the world and we had bought Real Madrid's striker. I was a bit surprised. I thought it was a wind-up at first, to be honest.

It's been a fabulous decade of football.

Who could have imagined back then that in ten years we'd be odds on favourites to win away at the arse?

In another ten years time Ederson (34) Mendy (33), Stones (34), Laporte (34), Bernardo (33), Sane (32), Ster!ing (33) and Jesus (31) will be heading to the end of their careers. KDB (37) will have probably recently retired. Foden (28), Diaz (29) and Gomes (28) will be at the peak of their powers.

I hope I stick around on this mortal coil for the next decade, some of the lads mentioned will be the future legends of our beautiful club. CTID.

Number of times I have got off the train after a match in a joyous pissed up state and wondered “ how the fuck did I get on that fucker ?” over the years I will never know !
Had some shit taxi rides home when I lived in Manc proper before Sheiks arrived , nothing worse than a gobby fucking rag taxi driver trying to wind you up , got into some right situations but we’ve all done it have t we ! :-) ;-)

Maybe we should get a digital clock banner that counts up from the year of the take over.

Just did a quick look through his timeline on Twitter and it looks like he picked us to win the league again this season.

Ten years? That’s gone fast. And be honest, who foresaw what has happened to us since then. We all dreamed of league titles and cups and turning over the rags. But how quickly we have caught them and passed them on the field, (yes it was in your fucking lifetime baconface), and how we are catching them up off the field and have overtaken Chelsea, Arsenal and the dippers in terms of revenue, sponsorship, worldwide fan base.

Our owners have turned out to be the very best in this country and possibly in Europe. They backed us to the hilt initially, have overseen the building of sports best academy and not just in football, increased revenues enormously and we are now profit making and have the best team in the land by miles. None of it seems to be abating, if anything we will pull further away.

I wonder how much better it can get in the next decade? I would imagine another 4/5 PL titles and a similar number of domestic cups and possibly a CL or two.
