I think they'll come close but will fall short for one main reason; they dont have a prolific striker like your Aguero, Kane etc. Firmino isnt prolific, Mane and Salah are wingers although they scored loads. We have variety of fire power lead by a prolific striker. If Salah gets injured they're kind of screwed, were us can cope much better. Wouldn't it be hilarious if Alisson gets injured and misses half a season and the thought having to rely on Karius to carry them over haha.

I’d prefer if we take them apart without Kev(most likely) and them with their full team.
Then when we play them at home with a full squad we inflict more misery on them.

C’mon Pep. I hope you’ve learned from last season.

They have improved the biggest flaw they had - defence. They have strengthened midfield. They can score hatloads of goals. Squad has a bit of depth.
The authorities are desperate for them to win the PL - it is good for business.
They will get every decision going and will be pushed up the hill towards the holy grail.

We will be doing exceptionally well to come out on top come May.

Really???? I don’t think we would be doing expectionally well to come out on top come May. Considering the standard we’ve set we’d be fully expected to come out on top come May, you could even say come April.

Dippers dropped a lot of silly points last year - they have bought very well to ensure that does not happen again.
The points gap last season was 25.
I expect our total to decline (approx -9) and the Dippers total to increase significantly (+12).
If that happens then it gets tight and they will have the establishment behind them, the media and the momentum.

They have Spurs and Chelsea before we meet them at Anfield in game number8.
We need the jump on them before that game otherwise the band wagon will have started in earnest.

What if Salah gets injured ? He is going to have to play nearly every PL game , every CL game and most FA Cup games if dipperpool are going to win anything this season . He cant sustain the sheer amount games but dipperpool rely on him heavily despite spending so big , pressure is on them and Salah big time !

If they concentrate on the league they will be a threat. But we will still finish ahead of them.

Not sure on the source for these but last season's 1st 2 games were a 2-0 win at Brighton and 1-1 draw (mugging) at home to Everton, which is 4 points...... :?:

Stuart Pearce tipping the murderers for the league.

I wonder has he placed any money on it?

I firmly believe he hasn't.

Obviously a Dipper fan writing about their team. No other fanbis that delusional to write such crap after 2 games f football, especially against who they played, and struggled in the second game.

But that's them though and it will be the opposite end f the spectrum of laying wreaths and lighting candles if they don't bring home the bacon to the continent of Liverpool.

Can't get my head around the idea that Salah is a winger! He's a goalscorer who starts off on the right wing but within a structure goes where he wants. He really is a striker and will score plenty of goals. As good as Aguero? Not in my book but only time will tell as we see how he does over 5 or more seasons.

If we play to our potential we will win the league but I can't see LPool being anything but 2nd

There you go, a woman who is only employed for the quota basis. She's absolutely clueless about football and is all about who she supports.

Hopefully someone like Martin Samuels, who I suspect has little time for her, has filed this one away to savage her on a future Sunday Supplement.

Alyson Rudd (born 1963) is a British journalist with The Times who writes about sport, mainly football, and literature in the book club section. She was born in Liverpool in 1963 and grew up in rural Lancashire. She is a graduate of the London School of Economics but began her career in fashion before becoming a financial journalist. Often described as wearing red tinted glasses and having a "dippers" view on football, she is considered one of the biggest jokes in sports journalism since 1992. She was an enthusiastic footballer with Leyton Orient Ladies. She is married, has two sons and lives in West London.[1]
