Muric is a kid too. He's only 19 so in fact younger than Grimshaw. My bet is that we will be buying a backup in the January window.

Muric is a talent and plays the same way as Ederson and probably has just as big a Kick as him

Still, both him and Grimshaw are at an age where they need playing time. I think we will get a veteran backup in in January and let one of them out on loan (again). Maybe it will be Grimshaw if Muric makes a mark as cup keeper?

Still an option for me.

There you go. If I put that on Twitter as well as here at the time and claimed to be ITK, Tolmie would be all over me

Who would've thought of that? Maybe we aren't 'frantic' after all?

Why poor Grimshaw? He's in exactly the same position as he was a few days ago, I'd imagine he's still on a high being promoted to the senior squad especially when you consider he was probably 5th choice keeper when they broke up for the summer.

Maybe it was a bit of a shaker to read all and sundry writing him off as second choice keeper for the rest of the season - including me ;)

We're not a charity ffs! Grimshaw was 3rd choice, a squad position that rarely sees any minute at all and is only supposed to cover absolute short-term emergencies (#1 is out and #2 gets sent off or twists an ankle in the warmup or such), not a whole season. No slight on Grimshaw and unless he is delusional, he will know that. There is also sound reasoning in loaning out the youth player who is further along in development (regardless of age) and keep the other one around at the club to work with him on his flaws.

Now Muric needs to get the League Cup at least, maybe some early FA Cup or dead rubber Champions League games as well to gain some senior football experience in case he is needed to step in for Ed.

Whether he will go back out on loan in January will depend on a number of circumstances, most importantly his performances in games and training, to weigh up what is best for the club and what is best for his development.

I think as a number 2 keeper he was very experienced and maybe as good as we could get, for our needs.
I have nothing against him and think he had definitely looked like he improved this season and looked far more comfortable or less nervous.

But I'll admit I was hoping he'd be moved on last summer and somehow we would convince Gunn to come back for a year as number 2.
If he was promised all domestic cups and a quota of games in the league, something like that.
Then Muric as number 3, moving up to Number 2 after a year with the first team. Gunn would always want to move on eventually, but I thought if we could get one year out of him, the progression of the youth keepers would be more natural.

I don't have a problem with Muric as number 2 now. I think he is the keeper that has impressed me most of any I've seen in the academy.(the little I've seen)

The thing with Gunn is that he played a full season in the Championship and did very very well, so I didn't expect him to get back to sit on the City bench. Selling him with a buy-back clause made the most sense. However, how he did end up at a club where he will sit on the bench again is a bit of a head-scratcher.

I suspect a relatively big money move - his first - works wonders in the persuasion game,

From what i have seen Muric is far superior to Grimshaw. He looks like he could make it to the top while grimshaws ceiling is a bit lower. No sleight on him though.

I am happy with this
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
