Well there you go.
I would say our strike rate is no worse than last year.
We are not giving away so many cockups leading to goals st our end though. This gives us much more wriggle room. We know if we keep going enough goals come.

Like Pep says, we can always improve, but no need to panic. I think we’re only warming up.

I dont think it is mate- say we get a juventus leading up to the final , we wont get numerous chances to score (Or maybe this City team will !!!??) so to get one chance like Mahrez or Jesus got today...you just cannot miss them.

I think Pep will play a team to beat Juve.
Can’t really say what our strongest team is.
My point regarding the finishing is that we aren’t doing any worse than last year, not that it’s all it could be.
I do think however that as a team we are defending better and are not constantly only one fuckup away from throwing the plan out the window.
Therefore our profligacy in front of goal is not costing us as much as Last season.

Hopefully that trend will remain when we get to play the likes of Juve.
We gave very little away a Liverpool. Should have won, but last year that missed opportunity would have cost us more than 2 points.

Hahahha I’d be in good company in the match thread though eh?

Bottom line really for me, yes we will drop points at some stage because of bad finishing, just like we will lose points for having a shocker at the back, just like we will lose points over a dodgy ref. We still finish better than all our rivals and score for fun, anyone waiting for a blank to say “told you so” will feel vindicated but ultimately just be a tit.

Fair enough - We are rather fuckign good but we wont get chances like this against a top team so we need to be really clinical when a clear cut chance arrives , I think PeP realizes this and wants our forwards to score when its laid on a plate.

Sounds fuckign daft when we win 5 nil or 3 nil etc....but its a just point to make out.

I’m so impressed with our chance creation mate. Let’s be honest too if we needed goals today Pep would have stuck Kun in anyway. A big part of it is Jesus isn’t sharp again yet in front of goal. Mahrez took time and seems settled now and Sterling misses the odd howler. They’ll all get 10-20 though by seasons end.

We finished last season with a 16% conversion rate so we still haven't hit last season's standards ( although apparently our finishing was poor then too). But there again these are just stats and they're useless because they can be used to prove anything.

I will, I followed this stat last season too and we were consistently at 15% or more. I'd say this season's drop is impacted by Jesus's finishing deserting him and Mahrez tendency to have pot shots from distance.

Those stats would be better if it was shots on target. As Mahrez is blazing shots over constantly that's probably why it's not as good as last season.

I don’t think so Mase. It still goes on chances converted.
I’d imagine it is individual circumstances like FIBD has suggested.
It’s what I believe anyway. That you will never get an exact like for like situation.

The team we put out has a lot to do with it.

I maintain the only true barometer is the league table at the end of the season.
