That's unbelievable.

Basically, it would be like UEFA's records not saying a player was banned, then him playing a game, and UEFA claiming he was ineligible and it was the club's fault for fielding him, and not their own for (essentially) giving him the green light.

Wow. That’s a whole new level of incompetence. Makes the officiating in England almost seem decent.

Still, it’s not too far a leap from the proposals UEFA have made regarding past European Cup winners.
