As usual, they turned down our volume. I've decided the reason why is that we are so infectious.

I do love the armchair though, it's such a hard pass. I will do anything to see our games, so much that I've changed the way I do business but over the years be learned to get by.

And that's why I'm so, so happy with the site. It suits me; you cunts!!!

Just got home by a roundabout route as the Northern Rail strike means no trains after about 7pm on either of the lines I could use.

I thought Razza was good, a wild shot late on but caused them all sorts of problems and drew loads of fouls, some of which should have been bookings. Kyle great in second half in particular. Silva good as usual, Bernie when he came on, Stones looking composed.

Jesus not so good, Fern not at his best and Mendy poor. I think having Razza in front of him negated Mendy as an attacking force. I can barely recall him running into space, perhaps because the space was filled by Stirling. Maybe we should have played Delph with Stirling, who sits a bit further back (and might well have stopped their goal too).

Still, a win will do.

As they say in golf, there are no photographs on a scorecard. 3 points. Job done.

That rarest of things today, a dull win.

Mendy and Raheem cannot play together...at least not in the roles they played today.

Also - Mendy cannot defend...hes proving it on a consistent basis.

And Mendy cannot play with Sanè apparently. There's a theme here.

You'd swear they've played less than a handful of games together.

I didn't watch enough of Mendy at Monaco - was is Bernard that he had a good partnership on the left with or Mbappe?

Didn't watch them much myself mate, the few times I saw them Bernardo played from the right.

I think Mendy will be okay attack wise. I'm more worried about his defensive capabilities. When we played Liverpool at home last season I remember him going to sleep and letting Salah in for a one on one with Ed. He's done it a few times this season. Maybe Delph would be better against top sides?

On the limited evidence so far, I would go for Mendy against teams that are going to sit back all match, but make sure Same/Raheem give him room to go on his runs, and Delph for teams that come at us a bit more.

I doubt Pep will see it that way though!

No he most certainly will not.
We can't just throw Delph in for hard games when he has hardly kicked a ball.
Either Ben is the 1st choice or he's not.

The game isn't like that anymore though. It's not one size fits all.
