To be fair, he's stopped a few and done that part but when it comes to playing out from the back he's looked terrible. I don't put the total blame on him for that, I just cannot understand why Southgate would play such tactics with Stoke, Burnley and Leicester players as part for the system. It's not their natural game.

Heard Tyler bemoaning the playing out at the back citing how in youth football it isn’t the done thing and Ratboy said he would talk about his time in Spain where the emphasis is very much different when there was a break in play. Had to go out to pick up my daughter from guides, did he regale us with tales from Spain? Or has Tylers point of view been seen as gospel?

It was stated as gospel but for any fan of the top clubs, they'd just shake their head at these comments. I was waiting for RatBoy to carry on but he soon realised he was on a hiding to nothing. Obviously used that statement before to say it wasn't his fault, he couldn't change their mentality. From what I read, he was just shit!

I think what tonight has shown so far is that Southgate is pretending to be the England Messiah, trying to play contemporary football but not quite having the tactical nous to pull it off. If you have a team that he has picked you've got to play to their abilities, not attempt to force them to play a system that they'll never play week in/week out.

And he's using the youngsters as a crutch, trying to buy time for himself, and his master's.

Note, there's only 2 players out there who don't play for the top teams, and one of them made the Europa League.

What a ball from Walker, but it's all Rashford.

And that's what we are seeing more and more from Rashford. When we score you see the scorer pointing to the person who has set it up and immediately over to him yet, after a great ball that most of us would've put away, Rashford runs off with no thought for Walker.

It was a tap-in due to that superb cross yet Rashford's touch is all that counts.

Anyway, get in!

So close. I put that game down to Southgate. Not because he took Sterling off as Sterling looked absolutely drained at the time, it was more that he needed to shore the defence up as Croatia we're having us on toast. Rashford for Sterling wasn't what we needed.

How much confidence does the defence get with Stones in there.

Great block by Stones again but Tyler seems to be devoid of even mentioning his name, nevermind his ability.

That's Sky for you.

Couple of decent blocks but stones had been unnecessarily sloppy a couple of times.

I seen one mate but it was a high ball that could've fallen anywhere.

At least Rashford will keep Raheem out of the first team and with Gomez now being more important than Walker we should be thankful that all our players are now second string.
