Can’t be atsed reading. Is the plan to bring back some sort of cup winners cup or create a third tier competition?

Pretty much mate.

I think it's coming from the former top clubs struggling to get into the Europa league, or at least struggling to win it.

We can't have them winning nothing now can we?

Think the plan is to create something so shit even the rags have a chance of winning it

If I understand it right, they're weeding out the crappier teams/leagues from the Europa League and giving them their own 'special olympics'. I might be misuderstanding it though.

So 96 teams will play in European competition. Teams finishing 8/9/10 in the PL to qualify? Imagine a lot of them won’t want to play in it and all that will happen is they will be glorified reserve outings, thus devaluing the competition from the off.
