Great call mate. A composed 0-1 win for us would scare the living daylight out of the rear of the league.

Right. I have compiled a table using the scores from last season results and like for like matches this season. (I know. I’m sad, but I retired six weeks ago and have time on my hands)
We have the same points up to now as last season and if we continue to get the same results throughout the season we will finish on 100 points again.
The Dippers have +4 points against the same teams as last season and even if they beat us on Sunday will still only have +4. Meaning with the same results will still finish 21 points behind us.
I know there are so many variables but fuck em anyway. They still have a fucking mountain to climb to close that gap.

Interesting stuff that. Puts things into perspective.

I think this is the most difficult game of the season for us and sooner or later we are going to smash these cunts on their ground. I would prefere on doing it now.
Scouse can't surprise us, not them and either their fans. We know what to expect from every angle.

It will either be another humiliation, or we will go on mad mode and crucify them. I don't see a middle option in this.

Agree, sadly.

So true, but then so was Arsenal and the swamp once.

Agree totally.
It just seems a long time coming.

On our best day we are 20% better than them. Play like we can and we will win.

Let's not forget the expectation they have this season, it can only hinder them. Conversely we have less pressure on us than the last time we met these candle-waving, job-dodging, inbreeding-loving, thick as fuck cunts.

No, actually Accrington , but they weren't sure sure how to spell it , with or without 'H'.

Really cant see us keeping a clean sheet. Not had one there since john68 was a lad. But we are ore than good enough to dominate the game and get one more than they do

Yes we are good enough.
The problem is we will not be allowed to hence the appointment of Atkinson as the Ref.
I am not going to watch this game - it will make me very angry.
Even the Liverpool Echo acknowledges the corruption:

How is the deal in England when it comes to this. Are the clubs allowed to refuse this appointment?
For example, a while back, in Romania, teams could be allowed to refuse a ref, but only had this chance one per season.

1 Atkinson, see other thread.
2 Left back will Ben be back / Delph out.
3 Mendy at left back.
4 Our full backs leaving our centre halfs to deal with the Liverpool front 3 on their own too often.
5 Fern, expecting too much of him now. He will be put under huge pressure.
6 No Kevin.
7 Sterling possibly bottling it again.

Sorry to seem negative but we have issues and I am not hopeful.

If Sterling wants a big payrise this is the game in which to show he deserves it.

Score a hat trick on Sunday and Raheem can ask for what he wants

Pep needs to grab him by the bollox and tell him he needs to grow them this week. He's one of the many star performers this season and without him playing it will unbalance the team.

And, we can't just give him the night off everytime we play the Dippers, we could possibly be playing them 6 times a season

Nah. It's gonna be one of them headless chicken games were all tactics will be forgotten. End to end stuff with them having their trademark fluke period in the second half.
Served with a Ref bias sauce.

If Mendy plays should we go back 5 with 3 CBs?

Napoli basically did it tonight to good effect. Their front 3 play relatively narrowly, so 3 CBs helps a bunch.

For Liverpool, I'm very surprised that Klopp didn't rotate their starting lineup at all, especially given their run of fixtures. If he doesn't rotate the players more, I can see them burning out by January. They are already noticeably more lethargic and less sharp than last year. But then again we seem to forget how to play football when we go to the anfield.
