Just ask the Sheik.

Paul Lake is 50 today as well

Tons of birthdays today.
Take your pick:
Benjamin Netanyahu
Paul Ince (spit)
Jade Jagger
Julian Cope
Dizzy Gillespie

But let’s listen to the wise words of that we’ll known modern day philosopher,

Kim Kardashian;
When there's so many haters and negative things, I really don't care.

Carrie Fisher;
If my life wasn't funny, it would just be true, and that's unacceptable.

Malice is only another name for mediocrity.

Patrick Kavanagh
Irish poet.

Pretty disappointed not to get a "LOL" for my Ederson, Lake and Palmer gag but I'll let it go just this once.

As to great quotes, look no further than David Brent. "Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get caught in a jet engine."

Have to admit it went over my head.
Makes sense now.

I missed it too, but then it's not really a time and a place for gags.

Pele is 78 today.

The bicycle kick is not easy to do

he also said;

A lot of people, when a guy scores a lot of goals, think, 'He's a great player', because a goal is very important, but a great player is a player who can do everything on the field. He can do assists, encourage his colleagues, give them confidence to go forward. It is someone who, when a team does not do well, becomes one of the leaders. Pele

‘In exceptional circumstances and critical moments, nothing but gold passes’ (Sergei Aksakov, ‘A Russian Gentleman’).

I believe this to be a mistranslation and that the original reads ‘In exceptional circumstances and critical moments, nothing but Silva passes’.

It’s a slow international weekend!
