Very bad news - is it his ACL knee? Balotelli was out for months with a meniscus tear and claimed he was never the same after it.

I don't know any further details or the extent of the injury. He does seem to have glass knees though. Hopefully it's not too bad.

No, no mention of a tear. It simply says a meniscal injury and sprained knee.

Yes it is the same knee that kept him out last season, and it's a meniscal lesion. No news on the extent as yet. The Otter has also left his national squad with an achilles injury.

It's the other knee mate he did his cruciate in his right knee last season.

Sounds like it may not be too bad either.

Yeah I wonder if it's just one of them international break injuries, fingers crossed it is.

I knew I could rely on FIBJ for a few rays of sunlight - that's cheered me up, thanks. :D

Tending to agree with you Carl.

Give Zinc a chance. He’s slower but a technically better player IMO.

I wouldn’t mind to a degree if mendy was brilliant but he’s fucking not brilliant is he , average (at best ) as a defender and has shown “”glimpses” of attacking crosses in some matches (none against the scum btw )

He’s no loss imo , Zinch gives us more options in a game and his range of long passing is incredible . He’s also average at defending but I’d have him in over mendy any day of the week.

His crossing is second to none, defensively very suspect. Like him, but probably best to look for a long term replacement as he's obviously made of glass. Shame.

Crossing and attacking in general he is excellent and already this season has a good bunch assists. defensively we are not yet convinced and when he isn't quite on it he can be absolute garbage as we have seen on more than one occasion. But as I think we saw on Sunday when he is at it he is fine. Pep clearly didn't want him bombing up and down and I thought he played with good discipline. An iffy pass or two but I can't remember any defensive errors.

Pep will improve his defensive work I have no doubt and we will see we have a star on our hands.

He’s been injured for a season and, up to now ,most of this season - IMO a waste of fucking money .

How do you make a crock a star when he hardly never plays ? He’s made of putty and IMO It would be more productive if all efforts went into making zinchenko a better defender than worry about a permanently injured player .
