Is there anything particular going on in Manchester the weekend we play Everton (15 December)?
I was thinking about coming over, but the hotel prices are through the roof. Even the fucking Travelodge charges +100 quid per night.

Nothing major going on, few gigs and all that, but nothing out of the ordinary. It's probably those daft Christmas Markets....they've got a lot to answer for those markets.

304 quid for two nights. Fucking crazy. Think I'll go in January instead.

Could always stay just outside the centre and look at Airbnb?

Nah. I wan't hotel standard. And the prices are quite high outside of the immediate centre as well.
And I can go pretty much any time, so it's better to just choose another weekend.

Day tripper and tourist central time of year hotel prices go crazy in Manchester , they are quite expensive normally anyway . Funny enough im in Berlin the weekend before (8th) for the Christmas markets and superb beer and got a fantastic hotel in the heart of the tourist area (Mitte) for just 200 euro for 3 nights .

In Manchester I usually pay around 70 quid a night for motel one or slight less for Premier Inn, which I think is just about what that sort of accomodation is worth. Asking more than twice as much is just taking the piss. Not to mention Travelodge for 120 quid a night?!?!

That's a joke mate , piss poor accommodation aswell . Try out of the city center close to tram routes into the city center maybe ? Salford quays , Trafford Center etc . maybe worth a try pal ?

Cheers mate - much appreciated! Will look into it. I did check the Quays and similar, but that was still quite dear.

Diamond Lodge out on the Hyde Road isn't far from the ground. Short taxi ride.
I stayed there for the Madrid game a couple of years ago and it's fine.
It's showing two nights for €186 on Bookings.com at the moment, for a single adult.

I've stayed there as well and 186 euros is daylight robbery for that place!

I said it’s what it’s charging now not what I paid.
I’ve stayed in worse in the city centre TBH.
I think it was about 60-70 for two of us when I stayed.
