Champions League Round of 16

Postby JamieMCFC » Thu Dec 13, 2018 3:13 am

So with all of the other English teams finishing second in their groups and we can’t play Lyon in the next round. We can only be drawn with Atletico, Schalke, Ajax or Roma.

Schalke will be a good draw for us, but I think we are getting Atletico.

They don’t score many. All four are much of a muchness. We are better than all of them and whoever we draw we should progress. As we are one of the supposed favourites for the competition we shouldn’t be too concerned about who we draw at this stage.

My thoughts too.

Atletico are obviously the toughest opponent there but the confidence gained from beating them would really set us up for a good crack at this this season.

All four will give us a game. Madrid the stand out of them and would prefer to avoid. Will probably do the day trip in last 16 and look to (hopefully) save some cash for future rounds

Ajax was ok. A bit feisty but not terrible.
Dusseldorf or Koln for Schalke.
Best away trip ever.

I swap accommodation for a ticket in the away end if we get AJAX.
I'm a 30 minute train ride from the stadium/air port/Amsterdam central station.

What sort of nonsense co-efficients, convaluted crap it must be when scousepool , who lost three games go further agead of Napoli.

Old scoring system would mean Napoli on seven ans scouse on six.

The easiest draw that they can get will be Porto, then it's down to the old cartel clubs. Would be good to see them get Barca, Real and Bayern, just for shits and giggles.

Funny guy, are you going?

It's easier to ask blues that have been before, as grounds like Lyon / shalke there are 3 X different options.
