We all think that we've never seen such good football as we're seeing now, but some of this is breathtaking

They'd have had 8 or 9 that day if the finishing wasn't so poor

What strikes me is how quick, skilful, and mobile Doyle & Booth are in this game, (& in the 69 Cup Final) ; I remember them both as decent, but not spectacular centre-halves alongside Watson.
Bowyer looks over 18 - more like about 27!
Franny - I had NO idea he could move so far, so fast !
Spurs had about 13 goals dissallowed for offside ; would that happen with TODAYs refs ?

Ah the great memories. No surprise a goal and an assist for the king. But some superb football, lovely movement and passing a bit like we are seeing now week after week.

Rules mate.

If somebody was lying injured by the corner flag your beautiful goal from 25 yards out would be disallowed. What a weird world it was. Also btw why has it taken all the way until now for somebody to realise how idiotic it was to have to move the ball forward from a KO?

Now gentlemen, enough of that now. Do you not know football was invented by SKY in 1992.
Seriously though while that season was a bit before my time, there is an awful lot about the game that WAS better back then.

Home fans applauding City attempts on goal. City fans mixed in with Spurs fans. And they say we have no history what a piss take from the likes of SKY pundits and many many others. Great players being disrespected.

I know we're back in 1970, but I don't think you can call them that, anymore.

That was a good trip down memory lane. Lee played like a mixture of KDB and Big Dave! Thanks for posting this.

I'd love to have been there during that period but just before my time. Just shows how good those players were and you can see how we loved to play football, just like now. Note the pinball game from Spurs!

Franny Lee is unbelievable in that film. Would fit in fantastically in our current team.

TBH, if my memory of that period serves me right, it was probably City fans chucking them at Bowyer, despite him scoring the first goal.
