You weakened the squad when you insisted on bringing Mahrez in Pep.

How? We needed depth in the wings. Which other winger would you have purchased who would be a willing bench player when asked?

He's not a "winger" though like Raza or Sanè. He never goes passed his man, always cuts back on to his left foot. That's not a winger.

You can see it from space when he tries that.

OK. But which player would you have purchased who would be a willing bench player and plays in that position?

With 1 striker in Aguero when he’s unfit we’re fuked always liked aubangyang (spelt wrong) no idea why we didn’t go for him, not so long ago we had 4 quality strikers.

I will add something to that.

I never saw Sancho before this season, had no idea if he was any good. Heard the name here, but paid almost no attention to it because he was given zero chance. I have no idea if he made the bench even once
Anyway, point is this: what made Dortmund buy him and send him in as a starter. We are speaking about Dortmund here, past European Champions, not Girona. What did they see in this fella that we did not see day in and out.

Why does it have to involve purchases ?

ask Carl what he thinks about using players like Sancho , 60 mill saved and a little wage increase - and three points against Scousepool .

Just seen the stats. Palace 3 shots on target and 3 goals. We do seem to have a players best ever goal scored against us more than most.

And despite last week’s game I’d add that Diaz is in the same bracket. Could have saved a fortune for a backup if we kept both of them happy.

We’d have enough to spend on a decent replacement for Fern. Because Stones isn’t it.
Foden Diaz and Sancho were worth places in the squad even if Foden is the only one that will probably make it all the way with us.

The point was made by several on here and I think it’s still true, that the money could have them been spent on a true A Lister striker and DM.

Palace defended well and we did not. Shocking displays from Walker and Ederson.

Not to mention that with all of that attacking talent on the pitch we never looked like scoring for the entire match.

Just got back and calmed down a bit. Stones totally out if his depth as a DM. Walker just shocking today. Palace had a good game plan and executed it well, and ended up targeting Walker to great effect. Sergio anonymous. The only positives were Leroy who was always a threat, and Kev, who was outstanding as usual. He is a class above everyone else except Dave.

With Walker, he played most of last season for us and for England throughout the summer. This seaso. He barely gets a rest because we don't have cover.
