Real expectations from now?

Postby PeterParker » Wed Dec 26, 2018 6:04 pm

So what are the real expectations from now on for the rest of the season?

Winning the local cups?
focus on UCL?

The last couple of weeks has turned our title chances around. Another couple of weeks and it could go the other way. Still too early.

But I think Pep needs to be honest with himself. He's talked about the team lacking confidence currently. It's his job to give the team confidence, so let's see what he can do.

I'd be disappointed if we didn't retain the league because when we're on it we're class.

I expect us to invest in a new DM and a reliable left back.

An absolute must win against Southampton and the Arse getting something at Clanfield. We must beat Liverpool either way and we will have a chance. City players becoming very arrogant and believing the press hype.
I think we can still win it but we have to get down and win the 50/50 balls which we are not at the minute.
The media are very quiet on Liverpool and I think this is by design. Just get back to basics and we will be strong the second half of the season.
Liverpool will fuck up at som point and we need to be near enough to pounce.

Expectations.
League cup, possibly.
2nd or 3rd in league.
Nothing much in the CL. Not good enough.
FA cup, semis.

A pot.

One would be acceptable.
Two would be brilliant
Three would be a dream come true
Four is unachieveable

I never 'expected' to retain the title because it is so hard to achieve, although of course I want to do so. I could accept even that someone else winning it might be good for the league so long as it is not Scouse, rags or Spuds! I'm not giving up on the league until at least April, nor do I expect people and the players to give up, although of course the odds have shifted against us.

I expect a league cup final (no excuse for losing the semi over two legs), and hope for at least one round further in the other two cups than last year.

I think we'll win the EFL Cup, make the semis of the Champion's League, have an early exit in the FA Cup and be runners-up in the league.

Many fucking prawn sandwich pussies on here need to grow some balls and remember 93:20. Never give up, pride in battle, fight to the end and we play our part too.

It’s our blip, it happens, it happened last season just later on. Better it happens now.

We can still easily win the league, scouse will flop at some point, they aren’t good enough to go unbeaten and be centurions too, no way. Watch them lose one then we’ll see who’s got what it takes.

The club/players are deluded thinking we can go all the way in CL and it’s showing in the Prem as they don’t have the desire.
It will only lead to disappointment in both and probably in the FA Cup as well.

Our only realistic chance is the league cup so fingers crossed the lads are up for it!!

Never give up, 6 points behind at halfway is not game over.

However, I do expect the current brain fart to fester and by the time they get their shit together, the league may well be gone. But who knows.

League cup, yes they should win it.
FA Cup, depends on the timing of fixtures/priorities.
Champions league is realistically just a pipe dream when all things are considered.
