While the positive vibes are flowing, probably a good time to start thinking about Thursday.
The spine of our team back and have minutes under their belts, I'm far more optimistic now. Still a worry about the left-hand side where Salah likes to do his work but at least we have a choice from Zinch or Danilo.
Looking forward to it now, we will be well up for it.

Salah has been playing more central which may be better for us.

They'll sit back, similar to the 2nd leg last season in CL. It's us that have to attack. Only last year even after Jesus had scored we needed more and continued to attack. Get the first goal and the pressure will be on them.
Hopefully everyone's fit (bar Mendy) and we can have a full team to choose from. And hopefully Mahrez is as far from the pitch as possible!

Mendy was really important in this game. They will counter as they usually do and will try to speculate our left side.
Not confident, let's hope there is a miracle coming.

Mendy can't defend ; it's best that he's out

With Mendy vs Scouse: 5-0, 0-0 - no goals received.
Without Mendy vs Scouse: 3-4, 0-3, 1-2 - 9 goals received.
I rest my case.

Would think that's pretty much it seeing as walker was rested today.

Did we go 3 at the back for the 1st half of the 2nd leg in the cl last season against Liverpool and in the 0-0 this season? If so, i think pep will do something similar again. Each centre back will be given one of Salah, Mane and Firminho.
..........................Ederson
.......Stones........Kompany........Laporte
Walker..............Fernandinho.............Delph
.................De Bryune...........D. Silva
..................Jesus..........Aguero

I'm torn between kompany and Stones. My idea partnership would be Stones and Laporte, both are quick and can play from the back. Kompany's passing is awful but still has leadership qualities. This is why it was critical to build partnership at start of the season, the chop and changing created doubt among the defence and even fans. Granted, I understand injuries and players needing rest. We laid the foundation at start of the season and should have remained throughout. I dont feel we should go out all attack, play to our strengths by passing them to death and hold possession. It's down to Pep to orchestrate a cunning plan and earn his money, no more over-complicated fancy tactics.

''John Stones, who has dropped out of the team, and Aymeric Laporte were posting ridiculous records at the start of the season. While they won, the pairing of Vincent Kompany and Laporte contributed to a tenth straight game without a clean sheet.'' Newsnow.
Kompany is our weakest link in defense , he will always have one or 2 excellent games (Half a game , like yesterday, is probably more apt) and a load of shit games. We will concede EASILY with him in the side against the dippers. We need S and L back together and to stay together. Sane and / or Stirling can help out our left back against that cunt Salah.

Agree with this line-up albeit it will be more 4-3-3.
We certainly do not need a miracle to win on Thursday. We are a top class side, at home against a very good side. Yes we have a weakness at left back but if we play properly and at our best then I firmly believe we can win.
Lose and the title race is all over. Draw leaves us with a very slim chance, we win and it is game on.
C'mon City

I reckon Walker will play after his rest yesterday. Cannot possibly play Kompany - the way the decisions are falling, his first lunge and he walks. I think Danilo will get the nod at left back and stay back. If we can get big dave, fern and kdb on the pitch to keep the ball we will win and it's back on

Going off this season form would have Kompany over Otamendi all day long but surely Stones and Laporte starting is an easy decision to make.

There's been absolutely nothing between Otter and Kompany this season
