also this has just been put on bluemoon, again hope it is ok

Just an update the guy who hit my mate has walked in with a brief and handed himself to police. Schalke FC are going to meet my mates solicitors fees as well as paying his hospital fees.
City & Schalke have also agreed to cover his parents hotel bills and also all their meals.

As per his health, he has fractures to his skull and jaw, he was put in an induced coma yesterday, and blood drained from his brain. He is still in a critical condition, thank you all for your support.

We are all in shock, he is the type of guy who would just walk away from any trouble, he his sister, mum & dad are top blues who follow City home away and abroad.

well done to both city and Schalke to help his parents at this time, but it should never happen

Have just read that City and Shalke are sorting any financial burden on the bloke and his family. Hope he's okay and well done City and Shalke.... This bit won't be reported on though.

You are correct. It hasn't been. Shame.

Sad that this is still a feature of football. Best wishes to him and family

i just bump this, and this update is someone who knows the family and posted on bluemoon, OH AND IT IS OVER 4,000 RAISED SO FAR FROM CITY AND THE GERMAN TEAMS FANS

Hi All - I have just had an update from his sister which I am going to post word for word.

"He is now in a stable condition but still sedated, he is having an operation today to repair his fractures, if this goes to plan they will start to reduce his sedation in the next couple of days and try to wake him up. It goes without saying that as a family we are humbled and overwhelmed by people's support &generosity and cannot thank everyone enough"

I will continue to post updates and news from the family as I receive them, thanks again to you all over this and fingers crossed for todays operation.

Hi All,

Here is the latest update sent to me this morning from my mates sister:

"He is now awake and out of coma, he is responsive and can squeeze our hands and nod answers to yes or no questions. He is unable to talk at the moment due to the tracheostomy tube still in place, the doctors have checked his throat and are confident he will be able to talk again. He has started some physio which will need to be continued when back in the UK. If he continues to improve they are looking at bringing him home in the next 7-10 days. As always thank you all so much for your support I don't think you realise how much this has helped us get through the last couple of weeks"

Needless to say I will post any information when the family send it and allow me to do so.

On a personal note I would also like to thank you all for the help and messages you have sent.

this is from bluemoon from his mate

again this was posted on bluemoon
Here is a message I have been sent by his mum and asked to post:

He is back in the UK and in hospital receiving rehabilitation.
He is doing far better than we could have imagined 4 weeks ago, he is now on a journey we hope and pray for a full recovery which is due to the excellent care that was received from the medical staff in Germany.
We are overwhelmed by the messages of support and generosity from the fans of both City and Schalke and to say thank you does not seem enough but rest assured knowing that we had support helped us get through a very dark period.
In addition to thanking the fans we as a family would also like to express our gratitude to both Manchester City and Schalke for their support, they have been with us every step of the way during our extended stay in Germany and will be always grateful to them for giving up their time to support us.

there is a msg from the lad himself and any1 would like it posted on here I will do so
