February 27 – Manchester City will visit Japan for the first time in the club’s history this Summer as part of their pre-season preparations and will play fellow City Football Group-owned club Yokohama F. Marinos.

Man City’s Tour 2019 is presented by Visit Abu Dhabi. The two teams will play in the inaugural EuroJapan Cup on July 27 in the Nissan Stadium. The match is being held in conjunction with Japan’s leading events management company, Zepp Live Inc.

The club said it will announce further fixtures across Asia in the coming weeks.

Ryoji Kurosawa, Yokohama F. Marinos’ CEO, commented: “It is a great pleasure to announce that Yokohama F. Marinos is playing a friendly against Premier League Champions, Manchester City this summer. I am also delighted at this opportunity because we are welcoming City, sister club of Yokohama F. Marinos, to Japan for the first time of the club’s history. With the F. Marinos’ attacking style of play, I truly believe this head-to-head will be an exciting one for the supporters of the both clubs and wider Japanese football fans.”

Omar Berrada, Manchester City’s Chief Operating Officer, said: “We are delighted to announce Manchester City’s first ever match in Japan. The Club has a passionate fanbase there and we are excited at the prospect of playing in front of these fans for the first time.

“This will also be a special moment for City Football Group as Manchester City and Yokohama F. Marinos come together to play each other in a match that will provide Pep and his team with great preparation for the upcoming season.

Does anyone know when tickets are on sale at the City end for this? Any information would be gratefully received.

Any of you going?
