I've heard that Nike withdraw a lot of 'old stock' from sale and shred it, so as to keep the price of their kits artificially high, and reduce the chance to buy stuff in the sale. I guess these kits could be some of the remnants of that strategy - I haven't been able to see if they're loads of patches stitched together, or something printed onto one piece of material, like Kappa used to do.
