has been average at best and utter sh1t at worst. should not be anywhere near our starting 11! surely pep sees what we see, so why does he continue to play him??

I don't think he's doing any worse than anyone else (apart from Bernard and Raza).

Probably could do with a rest though.

Certainly looks that way.
With some players that decline occurs very quickly (or at least appears to occur very quickly).
Dave looks to have fallen into this category.

Yet at the start of the season he was playing better than ever. Perhaps it is a sudden decline, or perhaps he gets more exposed when the rest of the team is off the boil. Or perhaps he will bounce back like Fern whose legs many thought had gone last year.

+1 Time will wait for nobody. Still have a quadruple on so not as bad as some will make out. But yes looking like he needs rest, with KDB injured he had play more than he was or Pep thought ?

It's time we put Foden in? he can't do any worse. Maybe Silva lost his hunger?
Foden is younger, hungeier, quicker and lots of energy. Maybe it's a gamble worth taking?

Very sad to see your heroes grow old but at 33 it is certainly looking like Silva's legs have gone.

Felt just as sad when Colin Bell came back from the Buchan injury and just wasn't the same

Time to change priorities I fear and start with Foden with Merlin as sub....

Maybe he is slowing up maybe it's bad form. But age is not on the great man's side. So it probably is the beginning of the end.
Of course it doesn't mean he has to get abuse. He doesn't pick the team.

Anyone will get abuse if they fuck up continually like he has done - hes just not at the races and its unfair to keep playing him when you have players like Foden, who has much more to offer us than Silva does ,on the bench.

Some fans are just fuckign pig headed to not see this.......one fan even suggesting its a sackable offense to play Foden ahead of Silva !!!!!!! ffs !!

(Rest him at the weekend but play him next week he will deliver when it counts (I believe in the magic of two Silvas for next week))
It may be my last year as a season ticket holder as it just doesn't seem the same with so few English and local players (but I said that last year)

Big Dave has forgotten how to play in his "usual" position as Bernado has been playing there all season . We are more effective with BOTH Silvas on the pitch these days !
Not really here

All of us need to man up and understand we will witness his decline. Age doesn’t forget anyone.

Still I think he is the best playmaker in the league.

I don't have a problem at all with Silva.

I have a problem with trying to be too clever in football.

Go ahead , with the strongest eleven and slowly rest players with subs.

Pep's obsession with Mahrez will be his undoing.

The guy is awful and doesn't fit in this squad.

Yesterday was not the right way to bring back Delph into the fold either. He could have come on as a sub in the second half.

Still , we are too strong a squad for Spuds .

Hammer Palace on Sunday and get Scouse2 under pressure.

Btw , Salad should have seen a Red card last night.

Foden's problem is inexperience.
To risky to take a chance on him in the big games (I know, I know we played Delph.....)
In a big game he could easily make mistakes that costs a goal or two.
Dave will not do that, no matter how badly he is playing.

It's weird though, his game was never about speed but more about know how. He was bat her than ever early season, so what has gone wrong is a mystery. Maybe our style has slowed down so much it doesn't suit him.

Don’t underestimate the lack of Sane in Silva’s drop off either. Those two link up so well.
Tracking back is overrated.

I doubt it's a lack of hunger, especially not in the only competition he has yet to win.

Too many minutes in his legs, he's played the full 90 in our last three, unnecessary and foolish ( that said, I reckon Bernardo would've started ahead of him at Spurs if he was fit).
