Great player and captain and deserves respect for that

But hang on a minute. My memory of the 80s is a little hazy, but didn't he just leave us in the lurch and fuck off to Villa, becoming the first manager to relegate 2 clubs in the same season?

Sorry his last season he left after a month or so to Villa. They were as broke as us, he said it was a mistake,
