Champions League semis - second leg

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

And there you have it.

These two finalists have both been tonked by City ( we beat spuds home and away and in the CL at home , and we took 4 from 6 from Scouse). These two teams show exactly how far Football has veered away from its base.

How many games have these teams played this season, compared to City ? Which competitions did they debase to get to the CL final ? and now it's going to cost them an arm and a leg .

As for the game tonight, crazy, crazy.

All of those youthful features about Ajax were lost because they don't have a couple of experienced players ( Blind ? well he went downhill at the rags ).

The promise of Ajax , is just that, they will be broken up now and next season will be rebuilding again.

If spurs win it, you just know they wont buy players to compete and it will be a one off, I just dont see them spending big. on the other hand, dippers can only get stronger if they win it and make it harder for us . I'm truly tormented. Fuck it, going for spuds

Absolutely.

I'm not watching anything about it from now on. Even the royal baby coverage is more objective.

If that was our last minute goal VAR would have found a way to rule it out, 100%

It's a no win situation.

If the vermin win it, no doubt it will strengthen them. And we have to listen to them bleeting on about it for 10 years.

If the spuds win it will make poch even more appealing to the rags, and sooner or later they are going after him.
I don't want to see that man anywhere near the swamp.
I am afraid the semi finals have been unkind to us.

I feel better about the CL today. If spurs can reach the final it shows that you need real luck over quality.

The premier league on the other hand is a different animal.

Good luck to both provided we do our job Sunday.

Well done to both Liverpool and Spurs but it really confirms to me 100% how much the premier league is the biggest target and the one that confirms the best team.

How many games have Liverpool lost in the chumps league this year? Spurs got the thru the 1/4 final against us on the back of scoring their last goal with an arm and having a goal that knocks them out in the last minute disallowed. That's the way it goes. If and when we win the chumps league I have no doubt there will be luck involved but so far we have just had bad luck at the wrong times.

Now back to praying for the right result on Sunday

Nice comeback from Spurs and with Chelsea & Arsenal in contention for the Europa it could be an all English lockout.

Strange to see, though, teams that are sat in 2nd to 5th in pur league fighting it out for European honours, especially as none of them are Champions. At least Chelsea won the FA Cup which gives some credence to the Europa and probably the only ones who gave it a shot this season. And to think, in the league we've bested both Spurs and Liverpool which goes to show that the CL is very much all about how any club can win it when given the run of the green.

Still, no real complaints here (at the moment). 2 games to go for another unprecedented season and, for me, would be a far better achievement than going all out for the CL. However, if we are to go for the CL next season we have to drop the FA Cup, IMO.
In the words of my Old Man, "Life will never be the same without Man City, so get it in while you can".

I want Spurs to win the CL and obviously us to close the deal on Sunday.
Then I can spend the Summer laughing but if the unthinkable happens.......

Spurs have a decent chance, they could have won the recent game at Anfield and Poch is an excellent manager.

Rags’ chances of landing Pochettino are roughly on a par with Newcastle’s.

If he wins the CL, his next stop is Juve/Real Madrid/Bayern/etc.
